Fantastic lens/value
Aside from slow auto focus I think this lens is near superb. Tack sharp images at all apertures, beautiful smooth bokeh at larger aps. I've used this lens now for over 5 years with my canon 5d (and now my 5d mk3) and I smile every time I reach for it.

Nice pice of glass
I'm using this Tamron TA18035MAF 180mm f/3.5 Macro Autofocus Lens, Strobies LED Macro Ring Light by Interfit. On a SLT-A99 DSLR Camera ,Vello Auto Extension Tube Set 69mm total. ps i bought it all@ B&H. The auto focus is not SSM fast.The AF is grinding out a little noise. But it dose focus sharp!

Pros:
- Resolution when stopped down to F/5.6 or smaller
- Fantastic control of Colour Aberrations
- FEC is a nice touch
- Good build quality
- Good value for money
Cons:
- Resolution at f/3.5
- Slow auto focus
- No focus limiter switch

This fairly large (6.5" long, 3.3" in diameter), reasonably lightweight (32.5 oz, including removable tripod collar) macro tele covers the 24x36mm format in film or digital as well as the smaller APS-C digital format.

- Excellent IQ
- smooth focus ring
- very little distortion
- little to no chromatic aberration or vignetting
Cons:
- Wiggles ever so slightly when mounted to my Sony A57
