I really wanted a macro lens because when you do not have the time to go out to scenic places just your backyard can open up a whole new world that is waiting to be explored and represented in beautiful pictures.

Bokeh; Sharpness; Color saturation; contrast; Optics overall; A six year warranty

I don't want to quote build quality as a weakness (but have to mention here for clarification since some people might have written it as a weakness) because you cannot expect all metal construction for the price; It is good quality polycarbonate and will surely last quite long if not forever

With 10 elements in 9 groups, it's worth noting there's no internal AF motor so mounting it on a Nikon D3100, D5100 or similar which doesn't have an in-built AF motor will limit you to using it manual focus only.

Really like this lens. Used it a few times and just focuses nice and puts up a great photo.

sharp macro

This is a good budget macro for all around work with plants, flowers, and insects. The MFD is pretty long, but not quite like the S 100mm macro lens. If you're on a budget this is a good choice. My only gripe is the lens could be sharper (like the S100mm) and the AF speed is quite slow.

Price Sharp F/2.8 aperture

Slow AF Speed

Fantastic value for money and great results

I purchased this lens as I have been wanting one for a while now and have been extremely happy with it. I am yet to find anything that I am not happy with. Love the ease of use and the results I have achieved since purchasing this lens.

Nice affordable lens for macro work

Lens seems to be built very well and the shots that I have taken with it so far are crisp and clear. Compared to my other lenses (Tamron 18-270 and Canon 50mm 1.8), picture quality is very good.

Consistent Output; Lightweight; Strong Construction

Lens Creep; Loud auto-focus

Lens Test: Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro VC USD AF

This full-frame, high-speed, short telephoto is Tamron's tenth 90mm macro since 1979, but its first 1:1 close-up lens with Vibration Compensation-the only one of Tamron's five true macros to offer it.

Excellent walk-around lens

The Tamron 90 has true macro capabilities, and unlike say a 60mm macro, allows you to stand somewhat back from your subject, for example "spookables" such as birds and insects. The 90 also has lot's of non-macro uses, especially creative portraits and subject-oriented landscapes such as a lone tree...

Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Lightweight; Nice Bokeh; Strong Construction

Very sharp and quick focusing

I found this lens to work very well on my Nikon D750. It focuses much faster than my Nikon lens some of this might be attributed to the different type of lens. This one is a prime lens or single focal length while the Nikon lens (28-300) is a extended range zoom.
