Great Lens and good price

Focuses fast and image stabilization works well. I compared the IQ to the Canon 70-200 f4 L and it was close -- very close. A drawback is buying it from OneCall that won't accept returns if opened.

Fast / accurate auto-focus; Image quality; Nice Bokeh; Strong Construction

No Macro

Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD review

Unlike the somewhat basic affair that is the Tamron AF 70-300mm Macro , the new Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD has all the latest bells and whistles, or at least their high-tech, optical equivalents.

Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD review

Gary Wolstenholme takes a look at Tamron's first lens to include both an Ultrasonic focusing motor and Vibration Compensation.

Very good optical performance; Good build quality; Ultrasonic drive; Effective vibration compensation system; Focusing a little slower than other silent focusing systems I've used

The lens handles very well, the only thing that lets it down is the CA, esp at telephoto, need to stop down to f8 to reduce it. Despite the CA still prefer it over the Canon version just due to build quality and handling, have owned both.

Quiet fast AF FTM Excellent stabiliser Sharp up to 300

Chromatic Abberation especially wide open Struggles to focus accurately in low light

At first glance you could be mistaken for thinking this was a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. Its length and chunkiness make it seem very similar to Canon and Nikon's shorter telephotos. This optic, however, has an added 100mm zoom, making it an ideal choice for any keen nature or sports photographer on a...

So good i bought it twice

Bought this lens a while ago, my daughter doing a Natural History degree at Falmouth - 'forgot' to give it back when she went back after summer holiday as she needed to have a long reach lens for the course in her bag at all times.

Great Picture Quality; Lightweight; Simple Controls

An absolute dream of a lens! Coupled to my Sony A77ii it is giving me the finest results I have ever had in over 60 years of photography, it is an amazing piece of equipment.

Lovely telephoto lense

This lense is a lovely accompaniment to my other glass. Takes much clearer pictures than the 250mm Canon lense, and has further zoom. Great buy for the price.

I am a happy customer. I expected this one to be a very ordinary low budget lens. But its image quality surprised me and I loved the images even though I have used Canon 70-200 L series. Its not weather proof as the L series.

Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD

The 70-300mm lens from Tamron offers a lot of zoom in a reasonably priced lens, delivering sharp images.

Near-silent autofocus; Very good image stabilisation; Sharp images at shorter focal lengths (70-150mm

Zoom movement is very firm; Unattractive bokeh
