The wide f/2.8 aperture and built-in image stabilisation make this lens one to consider if you regularly shoot in low-light conditions, and it's significantly cheaper than equivalent rivals from Canon, Nikon and Sony.

Important to check lens micro-adjustments with lens on camera immediately

It is very important to check lens micro-adjustments with lens on camera immediately and if it cannot be micro-adjusted in the camera to acheive sharpness then it must be returned for replacement.

Tamron SP70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens

At launch, the SP70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 has a significantly higher price tag than its predecessor, which cost more than the unstabilised lens that preceded it. Whether that's justified will depend on the value you place upon the improvements in the latest model.

Great lens

Images are very sharp! I use this lens on my Nikon D7100 and the two work perfectly together as a couple. The autofocus of this lens is of decent speed and the zooming is very smooth.

Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens Review

Tamron was first. Many of us had long-wanted a 24-70mm lens with both an f/2.8 aperture and image stabilization, but until the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Lens was introduced in 2012, we had to choose one or the other.

I have choosen the Tamron 70-200/2.8 VC because at my workplace we use the same and I was impressed by its performance and durability. We use it as workhorse and its still working- but the zoom rings rubber got expanded so its not wheater sealed for now and not very sexy.

Pretty fast and accurate AF; good built quality; very nice iq; damn good stabilization; not that pricey

Built quality not as good as Canon 70-200/2.8 also the AF slower (not significantly); zoom ring and mf ring reversed; hard to use with reversed hood

Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lenses For Nikon - Brand New review

The Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (model A032) is a stabilized standard 2.9x zoom available in mounts for Canon and Nikon DSLRs with full-frame sensors. It also works on their DSLRs with APS-C/DX sensor where the angle of view is equivalent to a 36-105mm zoom lens.

Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lenses For Nikon - Brand New review

At a good price point, the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens seems like a great choice for travel, street, wedding , and even landscape photography. The image quality is superior, and the focus speed and accuracy is spot on.

Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lenses For Nikon - Brand New review

If you had the breath to read our review until here, you might be thinking that the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 isn't worth it. That is not our conclusion, though. As mentioned above, fast standard zoom lenses are difficult to design and they always come with some compromises.
