EUROPEAN ZOOM LENS

Lens Test: Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD

★★★★★
Verdict: Among pros, image-stabilized 70–200mm f/2.8 full-frame zooms have become must-own glass. They're in Canon ($2,499, street), Nikon ($2,397), Sigma ($1,399), and now Tamron's catalogs ($1,499), and we see them at weddings, sporting events, in portrait studios, and in backpacks.

The only thing consistent about the AF is its inconsistency

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: Im sure I got a bad lens (four, actually!), because theres no way the Tamron flagship lens duo (the 24-70mm and 70-200mm G2) were meant to perform this way, but alas and Im not the only person whos suffered the wrath of poor quality control The 24-70mm G2 (and its big brother, the 70-200mm G2) have...

Tamron SP 70-200mm F2.8 Di VC USD G2 For Canon EF

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: Technology is catching up with the big performers. Apple is no longer better than Android, Nikon is no longer the big fish in the sea, Tamron has stepped up their game with this lens, in an attempt to turn heads from Nikon 70-200, and it is turning heads, and for good reasons.

Pros:
  • Razor Sharp
  • Superb Color
  • Has VC
  • Affordable
  • and a 6yr Warranty too

Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens Review

★★★★★
Verdict: Tamron was first. Many of us had long-wanted a 24-70mm lens with both an f/2.8 aperture and image stabilization, but until the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Lens was introduced in 2012, we had to choose one or the other.

Tamron SP 70-200mm F2.8 Di VC USD G2 For Canon EF

Verdict: I have choosen the Tamron 70-200/2.8 VC because at my workplace we use the same and I was impressed by its performance and durability. We use it as workhorse and its still working- but the zoom rings rubber got expanded so its not wheater sealed for now and not very sexy.
Pros:
  • Pretty fast and accurate AF
  • good built quality

  • damn good stabilization
  • not that pricey
Cons:
  • Built quality not as good as Canon 70-200/2.8 also the AF slower (not significantly)
