Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2

If stabilization is key to your work, the 15-30mm is the way to go. If it's not, you should think about some other options. The Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM Art is a better lens at the same price, and even if you don't use a high-resolution camera now, it will hold up better in the future if you...

Bright f/2.8 aperture; Optical stabilization; Ultra-wide angle of view; Full-frame compatibility; Fluorine coating and all-weather build

Only sold in Canon and Nikon mount; Bulky; Image quality suffers on high-resolution sensors; Heavy barrel distortion; Nikon version doesn't support rear filters

What We Love: The constant F/2.8 aperture on this lens was our favorite feature. It performs well in less-than-ideal lighting scenarios and the image stabilization only sweetens that performance. It is also very sturdy and has an impressive six-year warranty.

AF is reliable and fast; Solid; durable construction; Minimal signs of chromatic aberration on images; Constant F/2.8 aperture

A bit heavy, if you are shooting video with it you will want a tripod; Handheld shooting or shoulder mount shooting for long periods of time isn't ideal, Pricey compared to other Tamron lenses

Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD SP

A very impressive lens, producing a high quality image wide open at all focal lengths. The lens appears to be a bit sharper at shorter focal lengths than at the long end, but the difference is minor.

Exceptional sharpness; high build quality; good VR; fast and bright; wide open image quality excellent

The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD is the first fast ultrawide zoom lens for full frame cameras to offer built-in image stabilization. It's slightly wider than the closest offerings from Canon (16-35/2.8) and Nikon (17-35/2.8) but not quite as long when zoomed out.

REVIEW: Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Review

This ultra-wide angle lens from Tamron sports a fast constant aperture of f/2.8 and as it is one of Tamron's 'SP' lenses, it sports rugged build quality and a dust and weather sealed construction.

Buy it, stop thinking about it and get one.

One of the best lens you can get for an a mount , a99ii is my camera and this lens is tack sharp wide open, use it for landscape and other work, thanks Tamron for Filing the need of A mount users. Its a big lens and heavy if your hauling it around all day long but well worth the asking price.

Its a great ultrawide with some great features, but one or two cons.

This lens is really great. Its lighter than its competitors, its got stabilization and great image quality. But its not without some cons, whether it changes your mind about buying it, is up to you. But, at f2.8, its soft.

Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Review

This ultra-wide angle lens from Tamron sports a fast constant aperture of f/2.8 and as it is one of Tamron's 'SP' lenses, it sports rugged build quality and a dust and weather sealed construction.

Excellent sharpness throughout the range in the centre and towards the edges when stopped down; Effective Vibration Compensation system; Good value; Robust build quality; Moisture resistant construction

Not as sharp towards the edges at maximum aperture; Slight wave to distortion pattern may make corrections more difficult to apply in software afterwards
