The Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC is a new telephoto zoom that covers a convenient and popular telephoto range. In Tamron terminology, Di means the lens is optimized for digital cameras and VC is vibration compensation, similar to Canon's image stabilization (IS) and Nikon's vibration reduction...

bang for the buck
i have been using this lens for almost 6 months and i must say that it is by far the best telephoto i have handled. it has amazing image quality, quick focus using the USD motor, amazing hand holdability due to VR and still is comparatively lighter when mounted.

Great Lens
I will not pretend to be an expert, but do own several Nikon cameras and lens. The Tamron SP 70-300mm anniversary edition is one, if not the best lens in my bag. Sharp, Great colors, great bokeh and fast focus, make it a joy to use.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Easily Interchangeable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Nice Bokeh

Great Lens and good price
Focuses fast and image stabilization works well. I compared the IQ to the Canon 70-200 f4 L and it was close -- very close. A drawback is buying it from OneCall that won't accept returns if opened.
Pros:
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Image quality
- Nice Bokeh
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- No Macro
