Great lens, good aberration and distortion control
Tl;dr: low aberration is a boon, distortion is well controlled, Tamron priced it well The full review: Tamron made this lens to fit well in an area that is kind of empty: mid-range telephoto lenses under $1k, and the features that it offers is excellent.
Ripped me off.
Now the lens has jacked up my Canon body and Tamron refuses to work on it because it is "gray market." These people are liars and thieves. There is no warranty.

Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD SP AF review by d5100_Nikon
Much much better than the Nikon 55-300mm I returned. I can get fairly sharp pics with this lens at 300mm. Very happy with that! There are some things to be aware of - you need lots of light to use a faster shutter speed, and other things that are less important. I totally recommend this lens!- Sharp
- quiet
- Not always focusing accurately
