Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD SP AF review by d5100_Nikon
Much much better than the Nikon 55-300mm I returned. I can get fairly sharp pics with this lens at 300mm. Very happy with that! There are some things to be aware of - you need lots of light to use a faster shutter speed, and other things that are less important. I totally recommend this lens!

Excellent Lens
This is my first and only Tamron Lens. Excellent construction and price also very good warranty. I will research additional lenses from Tamron. Highly recommended.

Convenient To Carry Around. Good One Also
The Tamron SP AF 70-300mm F/4-5,6 Di VC USD (for Canon Digital SLR) Lens is carefully constructed with 17 elements in 12 different groups to give you perfect pictures. The size and weight is not much, which makes it convenient to carry around. Overall, it is a good buy at the price.

Still great, even after 1 year
I saw Tamron has more rebates out right now. Got my first one on rebate...this makes it enticing to look at more toys...
Pros:
- Just chiming in as others have said--spectacular value
- I bought this from Newegg over a year ago Along with a Canon T2i), and it is still performing flawlessly
- It is a joy to use
- The Image Stabilization (IS) is truly as good as everyone says it is.
Cons:
- It wasn't free

very happy Tamronion
I bought this for my new D7000. pictures are very sharp even at 300mm and very great bokeh effect. I was considering the nikkor 70-300mm. But I am glad that I bought this. I borrowed the nikkor 70-300mm from my friend and compared this and nikkor. GO TAMRON.

Unlike the somewhat basic affair that is the Tamron AF 70-300mm Macro, the new Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD has all the latest bells and whistles, or at least their high-tech, optical equivalents.

Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD
The 70-300mm lens from Tamron offers a lot of zoom in a reasonably priced lens, delivering sharp images.

- Very good image stabilisation
- Sharp images at shorter focal lengths (70-150mm

- Zoom movement is very firm
- Unattractive bokeh
