Inexpensive but good

I wanted a longer lens for my Canon, but I knew I wouldn't use it enough to justify buying L-glass or some other high-priced lens. This fit the bill and what arrived was just what I wanted -- a lens that I could pull out to meet a special need, even if it didn't have the optical quality of another...

Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2 AF review by TheSnore

This is a full frame lens and I'm using it on a crop sensor body. I am very pleased with the image quality. Real life isn't tack sharp why should the images we capture be any different?

Inexpensive

Auto Focus noisy and sluggish

Great 1st Lens

This Lens dose everything it says it will. This is a great lens to have if you only want to carry one lens as it as a macro function for the tiny close ups as well as a 300mm zoom for those long distance shots. This is my new favourite lens.

quality for the price!

My first Tamron 70 - 100mm lens mechanism failed so found it more cost effective to replace rather then repair. However because the lens is so compatible and easy to use it will always be a key part of my camera equipment.

Consistent Output; Easily Interchangeable; Lightweight; Quick Focus; Sharp Focus

Tamron 70-300mm telephoto lens

Great lens for enthusiasts and beginners, but if you want a really good quality lens and you have a big budget, then spend a bit more on something else.

good value; light weight; good macro mode

focusing is a bit slow and noisy; doesnt feel very robust

Tamron 70-300mm telephoto lens

"The Tamron 70-300mm telephoto lens is an entry level telephoto and macro lens aimed at people who are new to DSLRs... I got this lens at Jessops as part of my camera bundle, so i originally only paid about £100.00 for it.

good value; get what you expect; decent macro mode; large focal range for the price

less than brilliant focusing :  a bit noisy and slow; manual focus ring is a bit smooth

Great performance so far

I have a Nikon D3000 and it is definitely compatible and considerably cheaper than a Nikon lens! Absolutely love it. It has given me some great sport action shots!
