Great lens

This is a great lens and as good as the 70 200 2.8 in most cases. only for the low light situation, the 2.8 lens has an edge. However, it's lighter and smaller, hence it is much more travel-friendly. Image quality is pretty good. The bokeh is beautiful.

The Tamron 70-210mm F4 is a great telephoto lens option with relatively few shortcomings considering its reasonable price point. Its optical performance should represent a meaningful upgrade for those using entry-level 55-200mm or 55-250mm kit zooms, and the F4 aperture saves weight and expense...

DSLR users looking to upgrade their kit telephoto zooms and those wanting to photograph moving subjects in good light; portrait shooters and outdoor events

Those shooting in dim environments and need a wider aperture; those shooting on the highest megapixel bodies and need the best sharpness they can get

Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD

If you do need an f/2.8, we like Tamron's SP 70-200mm G2, although it does tend to flare a bit when shooting into the sun. Canon has two current f/2.8 zooms, the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM , now selling for under $2,000 due to the release of version III of the lens-optically the same, but with...

Light, compact build; Internal zoom; 1:3 macro reproduction; Crisp optics; Image stabilization; Dust and splash resistant; Fluorine protection; Optional tripod collar available; Teleconverter compatibility

Image quality dips at maximum zoom; Some distortion and vignetting; Manual focus ring omits rubberized grip

REVIEW: Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD Review

Tamron are here offering a very interesting alternative concept to their already very fine 70-200mm f/2.8 option. Reduce the constant aperture to f/4, retain the high quality level and moisture resistance, and we end up with a much lighter, more compact optic that lends itself much better to travel...

Tamron 70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD (model A034) features a constant maximum aperture of F/4, providing superior control over depth-of-field and excellent bokeh. Compared to large aperture telephoto zoom lenses, the new A034 is lighter (just 30.3 oz.) and is more compact (only 6.8 in.

Tamron 70-210 mm f/4 Di VC USD

Tamron belongs to that group too – for many years they offered such lenses like the Tamron SP 70–210 mm f/3.5–4 Adaptal or the Tamron SP 70–210 mm f/3.5 Adaptal, deemed to be optically quite complex (15-16 elements) at that time.

solid and sealed casing; excellent image quality in the frame centre; very good image quality on the edge of APS-C; sensible image quality on the edge of full frame; moderate longitudinal chromatic aberration; low distortion; sensibly corrected astigmatism; nice out-of-focus areas; slight...

lack of autofocus limiter; lateral chromatic aberration corrected less efficiently than in the case of the rivals; too weak performance against bright light; modest standard accessory kit; worse than the one offered by brand name rivals

Amazing detail and sharp, sharp, sharp

I don't normally do reviews of any sort, having had a lot of lenses, cameras and kit, in general, I guess it would take me a lot to be blown away. This lens has, in my opinion, a much better quality than native Nikon lenses for what you get.

Great Picture Quality; Lightweight

There is nothing more invigorating for a zealous photographer than putting a brand new lens on a familiar, reliable DSLR body. The world looks different through a new lens, and the tableau of photo opportunities hits the reset button, refreshing all of the possibilities.

The Tamron 70-210mm f4 Di VC USD is a fantastic lens, but you need to give it and your camera every advantage you can to ensure that it consistently performs when it comes to autofocus.

The Tamron 70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD (Model A034) provides good value for the price, especially if you want to add this popular focal range to your lens collection. The f/4 minimum aperture shouldn't be an issue unless you want (or need) an f/2.8 for low light shots or extremely shallow depth of field.

The Tamron 70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD (Model A034) is relatively compact and lightweight so it won't weigh you down; Thanks to its internal zoom, the physical length of the lens remains constant throughout the focal range, as does its f/4 aperture.

A tripod collar will cost you extra and autofocus may search in low contrast conditions; There's minor vignetting and the lens is available only for Canon and Nikon (no Sony option), Minor vignetting, Occasional focus hunting, Tripod collar extra, Available for Nikon and Canon only
