Tamron 35-150mm F/2.8-4 DI VC OSD - Canon EF A043-C review

The Tamron 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD is another great lens from Tamron. It handles beautifully and delivers the goods in terms of quality. The 150mm length is long enough to be useful, but not so long that it increases the bulk of the lens too much.

Excellent sharpness throughout range; Well controlled CA; especially centrally; Reasonable distortion levels; Well controlled vignetting; Well made; Vibration Compensation; Moisture resistance; 5 Year guarantee; Great ergonomics; Fair price

Tamron 35-150mm F/2.8-4 DI VC OSD - Canon EF A043-C review

The coronavirus crisis has been adversely affecting many businesses and, sad but true, ours is not an exception. Despite that difficult situation we would like to preserve continuity and high quality of publications available on all our websites.

good quality casing,; excellent image quality in the frame centre,; very good image quality on the edge of the APS-C/DX sensor,; acceptable image quality on the edge of full frame,; lack of problems with longitudinal chromatic aberration,; slight lateral chromatic aberration,; very good coma...

some problems with spherical aberration,; high vignetting on full frame,; performance against bright light could have been a tad better,; too slow autofocus.

Tamron 35-150mm F/2.8-4 DI VC OSD - Canon EF A043-C review

There are plenty of 24-105mm or 24-120mm lenses for Canon and Nikon DSLRs on the market. To some extent, the Tamron 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD gives with one hand and takes away with the other, delivering greater telephoto reach but limiting the wide-angle potential.

• Useful zoom range; • 5-stop optical stabilizer; • Great image quality and handling

• Not a constant-aperture design; • Maximum viewing angle can feel limiting

Tamron 35-150mm F/2.8-4 DI VC OSD - Canon EF A043-C review

Did you ever find it challenging to decide which lens to use for a portrait shoot? Having a range of wide-angle through short and medium telephoto focal lengths is often ideal, but that usually means taking at least two lenses.

Tamron 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD Lens - Canon EF A043-C review

The Tamron 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD lens promises pro-grade results on a budget, but the focus ring turns during autofocus, which will make it a nonstarter for many.

Light, compact zoom; Sharp optics; Optical stabilization; Full-frame coverage; Dust, splash, and fluorine protection.

Manual focus ring turns during autofocus; Not that wide or long; Visible distortion; Vignette at widest f-stop.
