One lens for most occasions.

I was looking for a lens that I could attach to my D5200 to meet the requirements for most occasions, so I did not have to carry several lens all the time. This lens does everything I was looking for, excellent! Auto focus works well, lens is not too heavy and easy to attach.

Tamron 18–270mm F/3.5–6.3 Di II VC PZD Lens

Tamron's 18–270mm Di II lens has been designed for photographers entering the DSLR market after shooting with compact cameras with 10–15x zoom lenses, or for travel photographers looking for an all-in-one lens to avoid swapping lenses on their trip.

Impressive image quality (normal to short telephoto; Excellent resistance to flare; Effective vibration correction system

Slow; occasionally indecisive autofocus; Geometric distortion across much of the zoom range; Chromatic aberration at wide and telephoto

Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di-II VC PZD Review

Tamron's superzoom extends from 18mm to a 270mm, giving the lens an impressive 15x zoom range. For this reason alone, many buyers will be keen to know how well Tamron's lens performs. Ergonomically, the signs are very good.

Bought it for a safari

I got this lens before going to Africa for a month and as I was hiking and going on traditional safaris I wanted a lens that would not only help me take fantastic pictures but was also compact enough it didn't get in the the way or take up to much space.

Easy to use; Compact; Build quality

The Tamron 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD is a compact and lightweight superzoom that manages to fit a huge zoom range into a compact, lightweight package. Throw in its quiet PZD autofocus and optical image stabilization, and it's a very versatile little lens that's well worth considering if you're...

Very useful 15x zoom range; Good image quality at wideangle; Quiet autofocus; Reasonably effective image stabilization; Compact and lightweight

Rather soft at telephoto; especially wide open; Strong distortion across most of the range; Chromatic aberration at each end of the zoom (most pronounced at telephoto; Slower autofocus than its peers

Tamron 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD review

The Tamron 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD is a perfectly competent superzoom that squeezes a huge focal length range into a compact package. Autofocus is slower than its competitors, however, and image quality is weak at the telephoto end.

Anyone looking for a compact, lightweight, all-in-one general purpose and travel lens.;

Sports or action work that requires fast autofocus;
