Better than I expected

I have only used it once so far at a cross country off road motorcycle race and it performed better than expected. I bought this to replace my first version 18-200 Nikon. I wasn't expecting it to focus as fast as the Nikon (expecting to miss a lot of shots), but it wasn't far off.

Great image quality Faster than expected

Not as fast as focusing as Nikon (but not slow)

Tamron's 16-300MM F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD, a recent addition to their AIO line of APS-C lenses, further increases the ability and versatility of what a single lens is capable of. Bringing you an optical zoom range of 18.8x, a range that was previously only available on point-n-shoot cameras, Tamron...

Compact lens with an incredible zoom range; Rubber rings make focus and zoom easy to control; Touch AF and VC switches don't changed by accident; Easy to read numbers on the lens; Very good image quality

Not as sharp as some available all-in-one lenses; VC still left some of our handheld image soft/blurry

Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Macro review

There was a time when bridge cameras were all the rage. This was the time when digital SLRs were a massive price, and digital compacts were not quite up to the job. It was also when the term ‘bridge camera' was invented, because these all-in-one, multi-purpose zoom-lens cameras were literally a...

For travel all-in-one it is not bad choise!

Universal, Fast drive, manual focus correction; Low dust vacuum :) Low sesor-dust displaying (even on F16), macro ability...

Strong, strange-shape geometrical abberation at wide angle; Strong vignetting at wide angle; No stabilization in Sony version..; Large and unpredictable glare when shooting against the sun or strong light..; Shift focus when zoomnig; I.e; you must focus, zoom, and refocus again//

Of the numerous incarnations of Tamron's famous superzoom concept that we've seen over the last couple of decades, the latest 16-300mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Macro looks like one of the bigger steps forward.

Tremendous all-in-one versatility; Class leading 18.8x zoom ratio; 24mm equivalent wide-angle; Sharp at shorter focal lengths; Swift and quiet PZD autofocus; Effective VC image stabilization; Handy close focusing capability; Improved; weather-resistant build; Compact and light; considering the focal...

Reduced sharpness at longer focal lengths; especially at the edges; Slow maximum apertures; Autofocus less reliable towards long end of the zoom; Plentiful chromatic aberration; prodigious at 200-300mm; Strong distortion throughout; both barrel and pincushion; 'Focus breathing' reduces focal length...

The Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO , ( buy from Amazon ) is the world's first 18.8x zoom for APS -C sensor cameras. On a Canon DSLR it gives the full frame equivalent field of view of a 25.6-480mm zoom (on a Nikon or Sony DSLR it's 24-450mm due to the smaller 1.5x crop factor).
