Not the Best Tale.

The game features an okay story, great characters and, unfortunately, one of the worst battle systems in the series. The game pushes "armatisation" in battle severely limiting party customisation, has one of the most confusing skill system ever seen in a game, and has baffling features like linking...

Tales of Zestiria

Combat system, while great, takes a bit of adjusting to. But the story is decent for a Tales game, characters are mostly good and the music is brilliant!

Diet 'Tales of'

Let me start off saying that if you've never played a Tales game before, or you're new to the series, you'll probably enjoy this game. The world has interesting elements in it and it offers a fun journey. Ancient legends, magic, adventure-- what could be better

Zest fully clean.

Tales of Zestiria reinforces the notion that the Tales series is the Law and Order: SVU of video games. Both series have long held middle-of-the-road stature in their respective medium and genre.

Thoughtful preparation before battle is immensely rewarding; Character fusion is a welcome addition to an otherwise familiar Tales combat system; New characters stay faithful to the classic Tales party dynamic

Production values are exceedingly dated; As with any Tales sequel; there are very few changes in plot; design; and gameplay

Tales of Zestiria Review

doesn't deviate too far from its competent predecessors, but it's not a carbon copy, either. It may have linear dungeons and a less-than-stellar story, but it's open-world exploration, enjoyable customization, and flashy new Armitization feature are enough for it to stand on its own.

Open-world map; Armitization feature; Deep customization

Bland story and characters; Linear dungeons

Passion Is The Key To Victory!!!

Tales of Zestiria is the fifteenth title in the long-running Tales franchise. Though the core elements remain the same, players don't have to be familiar with earlier titles in this JRPG series in order to appreciate Zestiria -it's a standalone experience.

A deep combat system

The story is slow to take off; the camera can be wonky
