May be OK in home. Has to be reset once a week.

We have 2 of these devices, one with an extensive ruleset and one with a basic out of the box setup with exception of SSID and security on the WiFi. The devices were purchased because of their ability to implement certain rules that we require in our environment.
Pros:
  • Ability to create advanced access rules
  • Advanced wireless settings (Output power
  • Parental controls
  • Bandwidth Control
Cons:
  • Router locks up at least once a week, Using WiSpy DBX shows that adjusting the output power had little effect on the overall range of the device
  • (We prefer to set ours to low to limit range

This is a great router! I am very satisified..

The TP-Link 300 Mbps wireless N Router (TLWR1043ND) replaced a Netgear WPN824 which is a "G" router. Router location is the same for both routers (upstairs in the office). With the Netgear reception downstairs was spotty with random connections. With the TP-Link it is rock solid.

I bought the router based on the reviews from this website and I was disappointed. Experienced WAN port bug with stock firmware so I flashed to DD-WRT. The wifi signal using the DD-WRT firmware would drop after a few hours of use and I wasn't able to use VPN. This is not a must have router.

Very nice if you're tech-savvy with this kind of box and understand all the options. I just wish they had a 4-bay RAID option

Poor range

The range of this router is about the same as my previous 6 year old router. The 11n range should be more than my old 11g router. But surprisingly the range is same. In the config I choose the 11n option, but still no improvement in the range. The three antennas seems for decoration purpose only.
Pros:
  • Easy To Set Up
  • Secure
Cons:
  • Unreliable
