Bang for YO buck!
Listen, for the price, this thing is a easy buy... With all the options that you get I still find it hard to believe that it is so cheap in price. Honestly, for the price, you get a LOT with this device. It'll check off all the boxes that you could possibly have in your mind.
Pros:
- Worked RIGHT out of the box, didn't have to use the cd either. I have two separate internet connections at my home/office and this router liked them both. One is cable internet with a Dynamic address and the other is wireless based that is static
- both worked fine without a hitch.
Cons:
- Web interface
- while slick
- might be a little intimidating for some
- as it has LOADS of options

Decent for the price
Looking at a second one the modify my system. Detachable antennas is a must for me. I have had several DLink and Linksys radios over the years, this one has outlasted them all. (Most of them get fried in electrical storms with the high gain antenna. I now extra ground all systems).
Pros:
- Flashed it with DD-WRT vers 24 out of the box at least 2 years ago and have never looked back
- Have a high gain antenna attached to stretch to another building 400m away
- Radio is okay, not real powerful in my house - through 4 walls just barely connects to my cell phone, but still does
Cons:
- System goes down every few months
- unplug and reboot and it is up and running - never sure what part of the system locks up.

When we reviewed the first generation TL-WR1043ND back in 2010 we gave it a Silver Award. It would become one of the most popular TP-Link routers, perhaps even the most popular one.

Simple and easy to set up and use. Works a treat.
Simple and easy to set up and use. Seems to be very powerful as it has excellent range. Works a treat.

Poor range
The range of this router is about the same as my previous 6 year old router. The 11n range should be more than my old 11g router. But surprisingly the range is same. In the config I choose the 11n option, but still no improvement in the range. The three antennas seems for decoration purpose only.
Pros:
- Easy To Set Up
- Secure
Cons:
- Unreliable

Zyxel NSA320
Very nice if you're tech-savvy with this kind of box and understand all the options. I just wish they had a 4-bay RAID option
