Works great, right out of the box.

I was dubious when I saw the price, but for a network with 4 networked printers and 5 computers and several network connected entertainment devices I think it's a good value.

Very simplistic installation

Haven't found it yet

good, and cheap

bought it two months ago, placed it in my office. not like the DLink switch we chose before, this switch just never hang there, and always fast. I think its just enough for an unmanaged switch.

works well after two months nonstop working; really fast with the gigabit capability more over, really good price

i wish its smaller; cuz i like the small switch

Solid Unmanaged Switch

House is wired with CAT6 and this switch is the hub. File transfer across the network are at just about maximum throughput. Only limiting factors are read/write speeds of drives in my network. My only regret is not getting a 24 port or higher switch.

I have had this switch in my home server rack since the beginning of August 2013; Since the initial installation, it has been up 99% of the time; Only when I have the entire rack off has the switch been down; Solid build quality and great speeds

Adequate, only 8 ports at PoE

Adequate, wish I'd paid more attention to the details. Does not provide SNMP monitoring of individual ports, not quite a managed switch, only 8 of the 16 ports are PoE. Fan cooled, would not want to use this in a domestic environment. Works well in the network it was intended for.

Does everything it needs to do--I am using it in my residence and have no complaints after several weeks.

Instant on

Had D-Link 8-port (which cost twice as much), needed additional ports. Plugged TP-Link in, worked instantly without any programming. No fan noise, no issues.

Higher speed networking

Needed to boost the speed of my home network and this little device didi the trick - unpacked and plugged in - simple - no set and working like a charm

very poor throughput

I had to put our front desk back on our main switch because of very poor throughput . I should have spent a little more for a higher quality device.

It worked fine, up until this morning when I discovered that ports 1-8 had all died. I've had good service from TP-Link products in the past so perhaps this is an isolated case, but doggone it - why does every hardware purchase you make these days bring with it a gamble of whether you'll get a good...
