Absolutely amazed at the range

I've had quite a few routers in my time, N draft, N+ ones too. I wasn't expecting a great deal from the TD-W8968 either, but I set it up incredibly quick, using the software provided (even though I normally like going into the router's settings and configuring it from there).
Pros:
  • Connectivity and simplicity
Cons:
  • Looks

We fitted this N300 but although it showed everything working correctly we couldn't get any internet. After speaking to the technical services and our ISP it was decided we had a faulty set. We ordered an exchange but the same model. It still didn't work.

Gives you the full joy of wireless connection!

It does excellent wireless job. I linked it with TP-Link 300 Mbps Wireless N PCI adapter and they communicate perfectly. Coverage is excellent. Speed too - reaching my top contracted 20Mbps, THE SAME as on ethernet cable!

Buy something else

Sure it can be set up but it isn't just plug in and turn on, your expected to go in the background and set up a whole host of internet protocol. I couldn't even find the UK in the settings (every other country was there) - my advice buy something else.

Not for heavy users

Got v5(broadcomm chip). Works fine for max 4 hours after that strange issues like fluctuating speeds occur upto 7 hours and after 9 hours wifi signal strength starts fluctuating.broadcomm chips are not good, search the internet.

3g modem Speeds are very bad. Low dwnld n uplwd speeds.

Pros:
  • It is a good adsl modem router
  • but 3g dongle support is very bad
Cons:
  • When I connect the supported 3g dongle,I get a dwnld speed of only about 1.5 Mbps through the TPLInkW8968,while when dongle is connected directly,I get speeds of over 5 Mbps. The Upload speeds is even more pathetic, the speed is only about 150Kbps

Very Poor Documentation

Worked out of the box using setup software for connecting to ISP. BUT have not been able to figure out how to get USB port to do more than show that flashdrive or printer is plugged in to network. No forums for this device yet and FAQ on website doesn't much address this feature .

Good Modem

I already have a D-Link DSL2750U and was looking for a replacement since dlink 3G modem support was limited to dlink 3g data cards only. Also I was having trouble with DSL-2750U, since it does not reconnect if 3G modem gets disconnected due to idle. Modem detection has issues.
Pros:
  • Easy To Set Up
