TP-Link Deco M9 Plus Mesh Wi-Fi System

There's a lot to like about the Deco M9 Plus Mesh Wi-Fi System. It delivered some of the highest scores we've seen from a mesh system on our throughput performance tests, and its mobile app offers a wealth of management features, including strong anti-malware and antivirus tools, rich parental...

Easy to install; Solid throughput in testing; Dedicated backhaul band; Built-in malware and virus protection; Robust parental controls; Controls numerous smart home devices; Alexa and IFTTT compatible

Expensive; Lacks Z-Wave support; Cannot separate radio bands

The TP-Link Deco M9 Plus Mesh Wi-Fi System

If there's one thing that every user of the Internet dreads, it's the network dropout. And since just about everyone uses the Internet, including everyone reading this review, there's a lot of anguish to go around.

Easy to use; incredible speed and range; HomeCare suite offers fantastic options for parents

No USB device support; Zigbee-based Smart Home feature is clearly at a beta stage

TP-Link Deco M9 Plus Mesh Router Review: Convenience and Whole-Home Coverage

While its security software and an easy installation app distinguish the Deco M9 Plus from the mesh networking crowd, its otherwise midrange performance is marred by sometimes erratic behavior.

Home Automation connections; Simple; straight-forward setup; Network security software

Erratic behavior; Need to use TP-Link Deco app; Can't use USB port

TP-Link Deco M9 Plus Mesh Wi-Fi System Review

Wi-Fi is common as a microwave in home these days. When there is Wi-Fi at a home, having more than once device connected to it is common. One downside

Supports up to 4,500 sqft; Seamless Wi-Fi experience; Supports Zigbee or IoT devices

Price might deter some people; No web-based UI

In-Depth Review of the TP-Link Deco M9 Plus

The Internet used to be easy. If you're only watching low-resolution videos and checking your email, then you don't need that much bandwidth from your Wi-Fi connection. But these days, we have much greater expectations.

With a rank of #5 out of 15 Wi-Fi systems tested, the Deco M9 Plus lands right at the bottom of the top third of products. The good news is that its subranks are good for benchmarks that count, i.e. system, capacity and 5 GHz RvR.

Great Coverage, Easy Setup

Setup is simple and easy, the app is pretty intuitive. Fast speed, reliable connection, and no deadzones that I have found. Alexa native features work well with other connected devices throughout the house. Handles all the devices and streaming going on in the house no problems.

TP-Link Deco M9 Plus: Price cut to £240 in Amazon sale

TP-Link's Deco M5 mesh system has long been one of our favourites, offering strong whole-home performance at a competitive price. Excellent coverage; Handy smart home hub; Built-in antivirus and parental controls

Relatively pricey; Costly for what you get; Expensive compared to other mesh systems
