TCL announced its first branded lineup in 2020, but it’s long been a leader in the budget phone market: Besides creating white-label devices for carriers around the world, it's also sold its own products under the Alcatel, Blackberry, and Thomson brands. The TCL 20 SE ($189.99) proves just how well TCL understands frugal shoppers’ needs. It packs an incredible display, powerful performance, long-battery life, and a current, bloatware-free version of Android. The cameras are underwhelming, and there’s no NFC or fast charging, but these are minor issues compared to how much value you get for your money. Sublime Screen The 20 SE measures 6.8 by 3.0 by 0.4 inches (HWD) and weighs 7.3 ounces. It’s a big phone, but its weight is well balanced.
