Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Review – The Eternal Showdown

Perhaps you remember Smash Bros from days gone by. Getting together with some good friends and wailing on one another until feelings were hurt and battle cries were unleashed. Picking your absolute favorite and watching them decimate or be destroyed.

Tons of distinct fighters; Many many game modes; Controls are fluid and precise

World of Light gets repetitive fast; Not in love with the bonus stage

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Review – A Wonderful Celebration

I've played every Super Smash Bros. game since they began all the way back on the Nintendo 64, but I can't say that I've ever found myself hugely addicted to them. Don't get me wrong, I've always had a great time with it, but I've never quite been on the same level as those dedicated fans, putting...

Nintendo has never been ones to conform to rules. They'll always go out of their way to make their games a little different to everyone else. Super Smash Bros. has for years now been their take on the fighting genre – you either get it or you don't.

Adventure mode will last you a long time; A soundtrack so good you can buy the game just for that; The spirits inject a whole new strategic element; 74 fighters and over 100 stages to fight in

Home-run contest is gone; Hopefully online mode won't be as broken as other Smash games

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate review

Sometimes it's hard to believe we've been punching Mario's face in for nearly two decades. From the original Super Smash Bros back on the N64 right up to the present day with Super Smash Bros. Ultimat

Runs incredibly smoothly; Fast; frantic; fun fighting; Epic single-player adventure mode; Incredible attention to detail

Minimal story in World of Light mode; No Home Run Contest

A Raucous Clash Reunion

From its humble Nintendo 64 beginnings, Super Smash Bros. has been a delightful neutral zone for players looking for top-tier competition as well as friends who just want to kick back and watch Princess Peach knock the stuffing out of Bowser. Super Smash Bros.

Nintendo Switch Super Smash Bros. Ultimate SUPER SMASH BROS ULT review

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch is equal parts greatness and lacking. It triumphs in Nintendo's strengths and revels in their weaknesses.

You know what you're getting with a Smash Bros. game. A ton of iconic characters -- mostly from Nintendo, but also from the likes of Konami, Capcom and Square Enix -- battle to knock each other off elaborately-themed stages. Super Smash Bros.

Super fun game!

This game may seem odd at first, almost unrecognizable what kind of play-style it suits, the competitive or casual style of gameplay. But soon enough, you'll realize that this game is super fast and super competitive. There are finally true combos in this game!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate review – Nintendo vs. the world

Nintendo's crossover fighter is bigger and better than ever and now it has a single-player mode that's just as good as multiplayer.

The core fighting system is cleverly refined and more enjoyable than ever; World of Light is one of the best single-player modes ever in a fighter; Mountains of content that will last hundreds of hours

Steep learning curve is poorly handled, with a lack of tutorials and useful help; Surprisingly poor museum features
