It has been a while since I played Nintendo games and I forgot all about how intuitive and extremely fun it is to play with friends and family! The party games were super fun, but not just casual games like old Wii games. It required some getting used to and some discipline too.

Mario Party has been through a bundle of changes over the past 20 years, some for the better, and others sending the series in weird directions that nobody asked for. With over 15 iterations in the franchise, it's fitting that Nintendo has finally reinvented the franchise with Super Mario Party.

Excluding the 3DS releases, the last time Mario Party graced our homes consoles was on the Wii U in 2015 with Mario Party 10 and to be honest, I failed to really connect with the game.

"Who are you rooting for" I asked my housemate, a non-player heckler watching a full-up game of Super Mario Party . Without missing a beat, he responded gleefully: "Chaos!" Mario Party is a video board game series that's all about swing. You get a star. You move a few spaces. You lose a star.

If you're a very lucky person, we might have found the perfect game for you (as long as you own a Nintendo Switch).

Mario Party is, at this point, a 20-year-old Nintendo franchise that feels like a constant staple of every system. Along with series like Mario Kart and Mario's various sports outings, a Mario Party for Nintendo Switch felt inevitable.
