2 Flares 2 Flares × Those who have been reading KitGuru for a while will know that the SteelSeries Siberia V2 is one of our favourite gaming headsets of all time. Take a short walk around any serious LAN event, like Multiplay's i-Series, and you'll see quite a number of gamers sporting this...
The SteelSeries Siberia V2 headsets have been on the market since 2011. We met up with the company at PAX Prime 2013, and finally were able to talk to someone about reviewing their produce. So alas, we got some intimate time the Siberia V2 Cross Platform Headset (phew, that's quite the name).
This headset was my first gaming headset I got. My headset is 7-8 months old now and I bought it from a friend for 80$. I still don't know why he sold them, because there is only a few smaller problems with the headset . Well let's start out negative here.
If there was an award for ' headphones that would suit a Star Wars stormtrooper the most', then the steelseries Siberia V2 would win it hands down - but we're not sure if that's a good thing or not?
Positive: + You do not have to set up for anyone who has them, will last longer if it is more like using. + Mick must not pull out, many complain that it breaks easily but you can leave it inside and it actually sounds better then.
SteelSeries' latest headphones, presented in glossy iPod white, almost look like designer cans for music lovers. Look closer though, at the retractable microphone and lightweight design, and it becomes obvious that these are made with lengthy online Call of Duty battles in mind.
Great for music but must be treated extra carefully, can get better for this price
Nice bass comfortable great for music
overpriced bad mic
This is the second set we have purchased and hope this one does not have the same cord issues as the first one. This seems to be a regular problem with headsets these days. Walmart allowed for a higher shipping fee to guarantee shipment before Christmas, which we paid.
