Steelseries Rival 500 Gaming Mouse Review

We recently reviewed the Steelseries Rival 700 Gaming mouse and found it to be an exceptional take on the genre. With superb lighting, swappable components, an OLED display and vibration feedback, it moved the gaming mouse goalposts considerably further on.

Nice MMO/MOBA mouse but not without issues

First thing: This mouse is made for MMO and MOBA. It is around 120g so it might be too heavy for FPS. This mouse has vibration function which is probably why it is heavier than an ordinary mouse.

Poor Customer Service

Engine 3 driver program will not load on my Alienware machine, at request of Steel Series I sent a number of files and was told I would hear from them in 1-2 weeks, its now been 2 months and they totally ignore my service tickets. Time to find a good mouse I guess.

No braided cable Seriously Wtf steelseries

Good overall build quality. Thumb buttons are awkward to use, but become manageable with practice, was about as hard as learning to use the steelworkers cata mouse. Great sensors, lighting is fun, lots of built in software to sync the lifts to music or games or whatever you want.

Dont buy until the driver issue is fixed.

The drivers of the mouse are bugged and while playing games it randomly disconnects and stops working. The driver has been broken for about a month now and steel series hasn't issued the bug fix yet. DONT BUY TILL THIS ISSUE IS FIXED. refer to this reddit post to check it is fixed.

SteelSeries Rival 500 mouse review: Innovative design we hope to see more of

What's all this under my thumb? That's the first thought I had when using the SteelSeries Rival 500 mouse (available for $80 on Amazon ), and most likely the first thought anyone would have with this device-there's a lot to take in.

Overall, it's a mouse with a lot of options and plenty of style. It wouldn't look out of place in a gaming set-up or in a more professional environment, due to its sleek core design and more extravagant LED lighting.

I love this mouse

I love this mouse, use Razer Mice for years but a year or so ago I brought a SteelSeries Sensi Wireless mouse kind of spare of the moment and I was very impressed, I went on to my a M800 Keyboard from them.

SteelSeries Rival 500 MOBA/MMO Gaming Mouse Review

Overall, in the SteelSeries Rival 500 we're looking at a very comfortable mouse with an excellent sensor and a slew of programmable buttons. Every feature has been implemented well by SteelSeries, from the click-down buttons to the tactile feedback, which was tight and didn't interfere with our use...
