Star Wars Battlefront II Review – Epic Galactic Combat Further Refined

The entire history of Star Wars games is an attempt to capture the magic in those iconic battle scenes. We've endlessly recreated the Death Star trench run and the battle of Hoth on every major game system in the pursuit of that magic. This is what makes Star Wars Battlefront II so incredible.

Looks and sounds deliciously Star Wars; The multiplayer modes are more streamlined; Battles are infused with a proper sense of scale

Loot box shadow still darkens the game; Teamwork can't always make the dream work; I really suck at flying starfighters

Star Wars Battlefront II

The Force is back once again and you my dear friends can experience just how amazing it is to battle your way through the totally awesome Star Wars universe. EA Games brought the first game to life a couple of years ago, however the response to it was varied.

Note: As part of the review process, EA flew me out to California to play Star Wars Battlefront II in a multiplayer setting they had set up. EA's Star Wars Battlefront II is more than a sequel to 2015's team-based shooter centered on the legendary Star Wars films – it's a response to feedback...

Better than I expected

Bought a few weeks ago, and so far exceeds what I expected as far as performance goes. Loses one star because it feels cheaper made than the original PS4 I had. For example the power and eject buttons seem a little flimsy and the Options button on the controller seems clunkier.

Star Wars Battlefront II

Update : Never before has a game that we've reviewed lurched in so many different directions so soon after launch (in this case, not even a full launch). We pondered our score long and hard in the first instance, with the old loot system affecting the game, but in our opinion, not as much as some...

Betrrer than ever before but not a 5 star game

This game does it. It has everything you want as a star wars fan. But the loot crates and daily logins just isn't right. Graphics are great, the sounds are great and battles are great. But I hate loot crates and that's why I gave it 4 stars.

Its Fun, but can be repetitive.

The maps are huge, but can be a bit glitchy at times. The amount of times I have been stuck between things or can't jump over something... eh. It is a fun enough game, with some nice graphics. I dont want the loot crate purchase to come back - but if it does. I will stop playing.

Play this, you should - Star Wars Battlefront II review

I had a ton of fun playing Star Wars Battlefront II. It executes on presenting the Star Wars universe near-perfectly. The sights and sounds of lightsabers and blaster fire encapsulate every child-like midichlorian in your body.

Nails the Star Wars feeling; Heroes are a blast to play; Starfighter and Galactic Assault offer a ton of replayability

Campaign is disappointing; Progression system should forego crates; Pay-to-win is incredibly divisive

Star Wars Battlefront II

Star Wars is one of those epic franchises that has a devoted following for a good reason. Considering that the series has lasted longer than many gamers have been alive, you can't deny that this galaxy far far away has some serious staying power.

Beautifully rendered planets; Solid campaign; Plethora of multiplayer modes

Progression system weighs game down; Some poor enemy models; microtransaction issue still unresolved

Game Review: Star Wars Battlefront II

I thought 2014's Battlefront was a fantastic game, and compared to most AAA first-person shooters, it was a lot more approachable for people who don't necessarily play a lot of competitive shooters. For most parts of it, it was as simple as point and shoot.

Approachable and Fun Multiplayer; Space Battles; A Good Amount of Content At Launch; Great Performances; Fantastic Visuals and Audio; Playing as Solo and Lando in Campaign

Confusing Progression System; Random Nature of Unlocks; Inconsequential Main Story; Lacking Mission Structure
