An Xtraordinary Android
Sony's first smartphone since it parted ways from Ericsson, the Xperia S, is a feature-packed premium Android smartphone. SLOW: While the rest of the phone feels fine, the capacitive buttons on the bottom of the phone are tiny and not very responsive.
Pros:
- Nice 4.3in screen
- good 12.1-Âmegapixel camera with very fast startup time
- SmartTags are handy
Cons:
- Runs on an older OS
- capacitive buttons are not responsive
- poor battery performance
- doesn't play classic PlayStation games

Sony Xperia S
Tweet If the Xperia S was speed-dating, it would tick all the right boxes quickly and easily. Very powerful performance, check. Awesome screen, check. Great camera, check. And out of the current range of leading smartphones available in SA, Sony's S definitely flies in the top 5.
Pros:
- Excellent screen
- decent performance
- feels good in hand
- mini HDMI connection
Cons:
- No Ice Cream Sandwich out the box
- won't stand its ground against other flagship models
- no microSD

Sony Xperia S
When it comes to Sony (they've lost the Ericsson now), you just know their phones are going to look sexy before you even set eyes on them, and the Sony Xperia S is no exception. Sleek, skinny and shiny, the Xperia S is a seriously good-looking phone, but it's not all style over substance.

The Xperia S does a couple of things better than most smartphones. Its 12-megapixel camera is excellent and with the hardware shutter button means this is a viable replacement for a dedicated point ‘n' shoot camera.
Pros:
- Stunning screen quality
- smart looks
- 12MP camera
Cons:
- Poorly designed
- no microSD slot
- awkward controls

The Xperia S is well-equipped for entertainment, with an amazing screen, HDMI and good streaming capabilities. It looks good, but suffers a few knocks thanks to its bloated rear. Overall though, the Xperia S is nothing short of a revolution for Sony and one of the best Android devices on the market.
Pros:
- The phone is faster
- decent performance and battery life
Cons:
- Not Applicable

The first true Sony smartphone is here: Sony's Xperia S
Sony's first smartphone to drop the "Ericsson" branding not only seeks to revamp its handsets, but also make it cream of the crop, with features such as a 12 megapixel camera, NFC, and a display that promises better clarity than Apple's own Retina screens.
Pros:
- High resolution screen
- Great 12 megapixel camera
- 32GB storage built in
Cons:
- Camera button requires firm press
- Soft buttons don't always respond
- No upgradeable memory
- Outdated version of Android (2.3

Sony Xperia S review
It might not be cheap (yet), but we're impressed with the power and poise of Sony's first solo foray

Sony Xperia S
The latest do everything phone from Sony - the Xperia S. In a form factor little bigger than just a mobile phone you can surf the Internet, get your emails, make and receive phone calls and use third party Android software to keep in touch.
