Sony Xperia S review
The Xperia S is a solid ‘first' Android smartphone from Sony, but there are a few too many foibles for us to recommend it - particularly at this price. Shipping with Android 4.0 ICS would certainly lift our opinion, but we doubt the imminent upgrade will improve the weak battery life, or sort out...

Sony Xperia S smartphone review
The Sony Xperia S isn't perfect, but it is a very capable and feature rich handset. Some may be annoyed by the lack of microSD card slot, but with 32GB of on-board storage, most users should be well catered for.

Sony Xperia S Android phone
The Sony Xperia S has a great screen, a very good camera and provides a slick user experience. However, it lacks expandable memory and a removeable battery, is still waiting for the latest Android software update and its capacitive shortcut buttons are unresponsive at best. Overall, the Xperia S is a great looking phone, but it could have been a much better one. Sony's Xperia S Android phone is the company's first product release following its acquisition of the Sony Ericsson joint venture last October. The Xperia S has a great screen, a good camera and looks every bit the premium device, but it has too many niggling flaws to immediately recommend.
Pros:
- Excellent display
- Slick performance and user interface
- Decent battery life
Cons:
- No expandable memory
- Terrible capacitive shortcut keys
- Still waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich

Sony Xperia S Review
Sony has a lot riding on its success in the Android arena; since transitioning from feature phones with the Xperia X10 in 2010, the company has supported Google's mobile OS to the hilt, and badly wants to position itself as a true rival to the likes of Samsung and HTC.

NXT of kin
The Sony Xperia S is the current champion of the NXT series and comes aptly armed with a tack-sharp 720p screen and 12MP worth of stills. It sets a new design trend for the Xperia line and brings massive improvements to it.

Sony Xperia S Review
So the Sony and Ericsson affair has finally ended and the mobile tech world is waiting for Sony to reveal its pure blood offspring the way they would for the next pope. What Sony has released from its labs is far from anything that resembles a PlayStation-loving teenager.
Pros:
- * fast and responsive
- * beautiful screen
- very high pixel density
- * great camera
- * large built-in storage
Cons:
- * a little chunky
- could have been thinner
- * slow Bluetooth chip
- * no option for expandable storage
- * non-removable battery

Sony Xperia S
Sony Xperia S was just announced at CES alongside another Sony handset with a 4.3-inch 720p display and some pretty impressive specs - a gap-free laminated Reality Display, the Xperia S features 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 12 megapixel Exmor R camera R camera sensor, NFC support, and PlayStation...

The Sony Xperia S is a phone a lot of people have been looking forward to ever since it was announced by the newly formed Sony Mobile back at CES. It is Sony Mobile's first flagship Android device so I was expecting they would go all-out on it.
Pros:
- Slick
- sexy design with a solid feel
- Insane 720p display with 340ppi
- Dedicated camera button reduces shaking
- Decent 12.1MP camera for photos
Cons:
- Android 2.3.7
- Over 10 Sony apps that shouldn't be installed by default
- Shaky video
- Bad touch response
- Takes a long time to charge
- No automatic brightness

Sony's has launched its first solo smartphone effort with the Xperia S and it's a solid debut thanks to a fresh design and a range of impressive features. The Xperia S is a well-put-together device for Sony Mobile to kick off its product line after parting company with Ericsson.

The Xperia S touts itself as Sony's flagship Android smartphone that was announced earlier this year, though we are disappointed that it has not been equipped with the latest quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor, nor preloaded with Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
