Sony Xperia S
The Xperia S is packed to the brim with great ideas, new tech and hardware that work well. Operating it all is made easy by Sony's good NXT user interface, too. We do wish the LCD panel was better when viewed off-axis and wasn't plagued with colour-banding issues, but these are relatively minor...
Pros:
- HD-resolution screen
- NFC implementation is great
- HDMI port
- Quick-launch camera software is very fast
Cons:
- LCD screen could be better
- Average battery life
- Non-removable battery
- Non-expandable memory

Sony Xperia S
You'll notice the absence of Ericsson in the name of this latest smartphone from Sony, but is this more than a change of name? Has Sony jettisoned the dead weight of Ericsson for the future or are we in for more of the same?
Pros:
- HD-resolution screen
- NFC implementation is great
- HDMI port
- Quick-launch camera software is very fast
Cons:
- LCD screen could be better
- Average battery life
- Non-removable battery
- Non-expandable memory

Sony is now making a go of its smartphone range on its own, buying out long-time partner Ericsson and the Xperia S is the first Sony only smartphone, having just launched in Australia in early April.

Sony Xperia S in-depth review -
After Sony's much-publicised split with Ericsson last year, we were keen to seen what solo smartphones the Japanese giant would concoct. Thankfully the Sony Xperia S is more John Lennon than Ringo Starr, a beautifully designed media mobile that packs an excellent camera and actually makes proper use...
Pros:
- Sharp
- vibrant screen
- excellent camera
- desirable design
- useful NFC tags
Cons:
- Back scuffs easily

Sony Xperia S review
The Xperia S is larger and less flamboyant than last year's Xperia Arc, offering rock-solid performance behind the highest quality display you'll find anywhere today. The case could be a little more stylish and the capacitive buttons can be slightly awkward, but those issues are soon forgotten when...

Good Quality Device
The Xperia S is a superb device infact it's the best handset I've used so far. The Xperia x10 was my first ever android phone and I loved it.. The XS takes it to a whole new level.

Sony Xperia S Review
Stripped off of the Ericsson tag, Sony is rolling solo and is all set to launch their NXT series of Android smart phones. Heading the pack is the Sony Xperia S (codenamed " Nozomi "), a 4.3-inch beauty with a massive 1280 x 720 resolution.
Pros:
- 1280 x 720 LCD is perfect for movies Decent performance and battery life Brings Sony vibes (and media) to your phone NFC Tag
Cons:
- Chunky with weak build quality No Android version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Camera output is only superficially good

Sony Xperia S review
It might not be cheap (yet), but we're impressed with the power and poise of Sony's first solo foray
