This shooting grip allows you to mount the camera and remote control into one nice unit. It is very useful for hand held shots, tripod shots, and a short selfie stick. So it fills a nice middle ground for doing several things well (with little compromise in any area. The mount for the remote unit also unclips and works well on a number of selfie sticks - so you can use parts from this unit to work with other items. Which really makes this a great little unit to have. Unfortunately, you have to be very careful with it. The unit is completely made out of plastic (well, maybe a few pins and a screw are metal, the rest is plastic). This is not a problem for most of the Shooting Grip but it is an issue with the fold out legs. Dropping this shooting grip with the legs open (in tripod mode) even from a short height can easily break off a leg or two. If you have two of them though (a broken and good one) you can easily harvest parts off the broken one to fix the good one. Which is great - but
