Sony VCT R640 - tripod

Pros: The product does what it says. It fits any camera with a tripod screw hole at the bottom. Great for in door photo and out door pictures. It is really light weight so easy to carry around. For the price it is an awesome investment for beginner photographers.

Great value tripod

I've had this tripod for a few years. For what I've paid for, I think I got a great product. The tripod is lightweight and sturdy enough for occasional uses with the big video cameras (e.g. HDR-FX7). I use this with my tiny Cybershot cameras, so this product in lots of ways is overkill.

Great value; lightweight

Plastic parts break too easily if not careful

I am ok with opening the battery compartment

Amazon does not offer the best price on the product, if you have a ABC warehouse around you, they usually have it on sale. The product itself is very good. reception in am and fm is more than adequate. The sound quality is also very nice for a smaller speaker.

Lightweight, fluid, and does the job

I purchased this tripod for travel, as I was looking for a lightweight, compact tripod for my prosumer video camera. I have two Gitzo tripods for my photography, but hardly need their weight to handle an 18 oz camcorder.

Perfect for my wife. Exactly what I wanted. Not tall enough, for me though.

It's a perfect choice for almost all levels people's...

I'm quite satisfied with this tripod. It's made of decent aluminium alloy and engineering plastics, which let it be suitable for heavy duty use. Although the weight of the tripod is somekind light, the stability of it is still excellent and I don't believe any tipping over could happen under general...

stability; always the first concern for a tripod; 4.5/5.0 flexibility with smooth operations; 4.9/5.0 value 5.0/5.0 weight; one factor you must consider for your trip; 5.0/5.0

Sturdy

I bought the tripod for my boyfriend for Christmas online for $29. He has a Nikon D5100 with extra battery which makes the camera heavier. The tripod is not shaky and seems pretty steady. It extends up pretty high so that my bf doesn't have to bend (he's 5'11").

Lightweight and does the job

Not super high quality, but perfect for quick jobs or travel. It was my first tripod and was perfect for a beginner. I've since bought an expensive professional model, but keep this for travel and to hold a second camera.

Great Start

Really great value for money. Quick release is simple and works. Not the highest spec but it does the job, there is a rotating handle to raise and lower the camera which can be annoying although it does work.

"Much steadier than my hand...."

If you are serious about photography or filming, at some time you will need a tripod. Some situations such as landscape or self-timer photography benefit from the use of a tripod. A good one will let you place the camera parallel to the ground and will pan and tilt to whatever angles you need.

Very steady; will move to any position
