Sony MDR-XB950N1

Sony's MDR-XB950N1 headphones deliver a sound signature that's less crisp and bright than many we test, but avoid sounding muddy when the bass is tamped down. When the effect is engaged, all bets are off.

Exceptionally powerful bass that can be adjusted using app; Good overall audio performance; Solid noise cancellation; Includes cable for wired listening

Dialed-up bass isn't for people seeking an accurate mix; No remote/inline mic on audio cable

I have had a lot of folks asking lately about the different options for relatively affordable bluetooth, noise-cancelling headphones. Two options available are the Sony MDR-XB950N1 and the Sennheiser 4.50 BTNC. The similarities between the two are abundant.

Good Sound / Poor Construction

I use these every day at work and carry them back and forth using a hard clamshell case. I treat these phones with care and respect since they were a gift and since they represent a significant price upgrade from the old phones I lost. I take care of my stuff.

Good sound Noise cancelling Extra bass

Poor construction Break easily Sound "hiccups" on Bluetooth repeatedly

Sony MDR-XB950N1 Extra Bass Headphones review

It's all about that bass, right So we've heard, and so has many a headphone manufacturer. From Beats to Skullcandy, the designers of the cans we put over our ears have become obsessed with finding that perfect bass-heavy sound. And, at least with its MDR-XB950N1 pair, Sony is no different.

Comfortable; Fun with bass-heavy music; Long battery life

Rolled off highs and recessed mids; No multipoint pairing; No auto play/pause

I bought these as a gift for my husband, and he thinks they are great. They are quite light and super comfy. The song be quality is amazing and the noise cancelling function is superb.

Poor Quality - Amazing sound.

Do not buy these!! They have Amazing sound. But the design quality is absolutely terrible. You will only realise this 6 months down the line!! I have bought these twice and have had the same issues.

Sound quality ....wow

I bought these a week ago to replace a damaged pair of Sony wireless headphones. I was a huge fan of my previous headphones prior to them being damaged and was very sad to see them go. That was until I tried the Sony Mdr- Xb950N1s.

Great headphones

Awesome headphones. Solid noise cancellation, great noise and the bass is great. Thoroughly recommend as a pair of Bluetooth headphones with great bass for a mid range price!
