The TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award winner for infrared headphones is the Sony Infrared Wireless Headphones . While these headphones don't offer the effective range or effective-degree of our top product, they have their own strengths to flaunt.

These offer the greatest frequency range among the infrared headphones at 18-22,000Hz

Sony's limited warranty lasts only 90 days; which is the shortest warranty among the infrared headphones

" the unsealed carton with no literature inside "

The device arrived in its own box unsealed,no plastic cover to protect from humidity while on the shelves,no literature,no warranty card and no installation instructions. The headphones are operational, but has a slight hiss.I feel that I received a" RETURNED item".

Good Value Wireless Headphones - Recommended

The Sony MDR-IF240RK Wireless Headphones are decent value priced headphones that resolved the issue of the sound from my son's video games bothering us in the living room. In fact, they work substantially better than I expected after reading some of the recent negative reviews posted on Amazon.

If set up properly, a bargain!

I bought these for my elderly mother so she can hear the TV without turning it up so loud it disturbs the rest of us. These are Infrared-based and my other Sennheiser headphones are Radio-based so I knew they wouldn't interfere - and they don't.

Comfortable; Great Sound Quality

Low signal strength; Very directional

Does the job.

I've been using these wireless headphones on a TV and surround sound receiver for over three years, and decided to try them on my transceiver. I am very pleased with the results. Sound reproduction (to my ears) is excellent on SSB and CW.

Good at first and then it started to have problems.

I would like to say that the only issue with this product is the base station stops the IR transmitter between 10-16 minutes. It stops at random intervals, distance isn't a factor and happens while sitting directly in front of the IR. The head phones are fully charged each time this happens.

these are great headphones. i can watch movies without disturbing my husbands sleep, they are also user friendly. They also hold a charge for a long time. I am not sure how long because my needs have always been met without loosing power. I highly reccomend these headphones.

Look elsewhere

These things are junk.I can't believe that it's a Sony product. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Cordless

Lots of interference; Losses ability to receive very well if the battery is anything but completely fully charged; I have the sending unit sitting only a few away and still have frequency drop out
