Sony HT-XT1 Review

4.0
Verdict: For those unfamiliar, a soundbase is a flat speaker that designed to have your TV sit on top of it, offering powerful sound without adding clutter to your living room. Sony steps into the soundbase arena with the HT-XT1, an impressive-looking model equipped with features and connections galore.
Pros: Generous feature list, Superb build quality, Dynamic, detailed sound
Cons: Brash treble, Bass integration could be better

Sony HT-XT1 TV Sound System

3.0
Verdict: The Sony HT-XT1 is an inexpensive and feature-rich way to add both more powerful audio and more HDMI ports to your HDTV. It certainly offers a significant improvement to the sound you'll get out of your average 40-inch flat panel display, though it lacks a bit of clarity in the mid-highs and power...
Pros: 3-port HDMI switch function. Crisp high-end response
Cons: Sound signature lacks warmth and fullness

Sony HT-XT1

4.0
Verdict: Sony's HT-XT1 sound stand is packed with features, looks sleek, and sounds great, making it a no-brainer upgrade over your TV's built-in speakers.
Pros: The Sony HT-XT1 sound stand offers solid performance for both movies and music. It's also loaded with features, including three HDMI inputs and built-in Bluetooth with NFC support. The design is sleek, including a subtle front panel display and an above-average remote.
Cons: There's no separate subwoofer and no ability to add one later, which means it can sometimes sound thinner than system with a true sub. Occasionally dialogue can also sound less intelligible than other sound bars at this price

Sony HT-XT1

4.0
Verdict: Just got it and want to give my first impressions. Fyndade last piece at Media Markt for 1990: - Design - Stylish and discreet. Just the right size so it blends in well under the TV. Connections - 1st optical in, 1st analog input, 3x HDMI in and HDMI ARC 1st out.

Sony HT-XT1 2.1 Channel TV Base Speaker

5.0
Verdict: The Sony HT-XT1 is an amazing sound base. It fits into our oak tv unit superbly and looks very classy. But most importantly it sounds absolutely amazing. Voices are crisp and clear and music has a great bass range. Love this piece of kit and have to say it beats any sound bar I have heard!

Great except for one MAJOR problem with movies/tv

3.0
Verdict: I was looking for a soundbar with 3 HDMI inputs so it could work as a bit of a home theatre AV receiver. I also wanted a built in subwoofer. This fit the bill nicely. It sounds pretty good, but there is one MAJOR problem. Some movie/tv dialog doesn't come through on the speakers!

better than built in speakers

5.0
Verdict: better than built in speakers, but not by much. Do not like the time delay required to switch from internal to external speakers every time the unit is turned on. This is connected to my Sony TV set.

Open Box Sold As New - Beware Seller "DigDeep"

Pros: Interface with other Sony XBR equipment works
Cons: All connections in back add to depth requirements

Sony HT-XT1

3.0
Verdict: I bought this together with a Sony TV but my reservation is that the base booms because the whofers are only 2 inches away from whatever it is standing on. Even all the adjustments on the remote do not cure this problem, in my opinion a design fault
