Excellent lens for the price

For me, this new Sony 18-135 f3.5-5.6 lens is clearly preferable to its two likeliest competitors, the Sony Zeiss 16-70 f4 lens, and the Sony 18-105 G f4 lens. As compared to the Zeiss, my new Sony 18-135 is sharper from 18mm to 50mm, equally sharp from 50mm to 70mm, and provides the extra...

REVIEW: Sony E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Review

There is no doubt that the new Sony E 18-135mm lens has a real place amongst those that could be considered as general purpose/travel companions. Designed for APS-C format cameras, and here reviewed with the Sony Alpha A6500 body, this gives a full format "35mm equivalent" similar to the 28-200mm...

Sony E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS

The Sony E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS is a versatile wide-angle to telephoto zoom lens for Sony APS-C E-mount mirrorless cameras such as the latest A6500, offering a 7.5x zoom range that provides a 28-202.5mm equivalent focal range.

Sony E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS SEL18135

The 18135SEL exceeded my expectations, although I hoped for the best based on this website's intial review. IQ is really quite good across the board - rare for such a long range zoom.

Excellent IQ wide open in centers and edges - corners sharpen a couple stops down OSS is a big help with a6000/a6300 bodies AF is quick and accurate Compact; light and easy to operate

Slow optically Minimal bokeh potential

Great All round lense

Great standard zoom lense, will likely live on camera displacing the kit lense. Far more flexible than 16-50 for candid portraits and general photography

Durable; Great Picture Quality; Simple Controls

Instantly switch between auto and manual focus via an AF/MF switch on the side of the lens. This makes operation faster and easier as you let the camera and lens focus for you; or, decide to take control and manually focus on the precise point you chose.

Lovely focal length range for a standard len

First use of the lens today. Seems sharp at most focal lengths using aperture of f9. Only downside is slight lag in auto focus when compared with my Zeiss 16-70 which has been my normal standard lens. The extra focal length however more than comoensates for the slight focus lag.

I'd buy it again

I love my new sony lense. It is a perfect fit on my Sony a6000. Photos are crisp with excellent colors. I chatted via internet with a tech from Crutchfield who answered the many questions I had about the lense. I have never bought a used lense before, but this one exceeds my expectations.

Very sharp

I have only had this lens for a few hours, and have only tried it in the half-light of evening, but, I must say that I am, so far, very impressed. I must say that I am not particularly overwhelmed with the additional zoom capability over the kit 16-55mm.

Best Walk-around lens for Sony

I sold a Sony G-lens 18-105 to get this 18-135, and i couldn't be happier. Some folks will think that's crazy, because the 18-105 G is supposed to be so great, but honestly, this lens totally outshines that one for a lot of reasons.
