Sony Cyber-shot H400

The Sony Cyber-shot H400 is a bridge super-zoom with a massive 63.3x optical range. Launched in February 2014 alongside the 35x H300, these models join the H200 released at the beginning of the year to form a budget range below the more impressively-equipped HX range.

Massive 63.3x zoom lens

Poor electronic viewfinder quality; CCD streaking artifacts on movies; No Photo Creativity modes; No customisation options; No 1080p full HD video; Limited Picture Effects; No Wifi

Sony DSC-H400 – Review

Sony DSC-H400 is a type of digital camera bridge camera body features a handy and easy grasping but, above all, an exceptional 63x optical zoom, a very high value for this kind of product.

Manual controls; Zoom high; Electronic Viewfinder; Optical Image Stabilizer; Intelligent Auto Mode automatically; Autonomy; Resolution; Opening goal

No support for the RAW format; HD movies only; Display resolution is not very high

Best Sony Point and Shoot I've Owned

We bought the DSC-H400 camera to replace our older Sony DSC-H7 that had served us well for many years. The purchase was made so we would have a better camera for our "vacation of a lifetime" Alaskan cruise.

Easy To Use; Fast/accurate auto-focus; Good Image Quality; Good Image Stabilization; Good in Low Light; Great Zoom; Large Clear LCD; Nice Body Color; Short Lag Time

Sony DSC-H400

Look beautiful, really like the zoom. I could take a good picture of the moo and the very far away building and make it look like I'm standing somewhere close to it. I also like the filming I videoed the firework the other night.

I like the zooming and picture bright

I dislike it because it doesn't have the croping feature; I think that all camera should have it; If the zooming isn't this good I wouldnt but it; I wish the features should be more like the Kodak digital one that you could crop the original picture in to any size you wanted and still have the...

GREAT CAMERA, needs a manual

I have long been a fan of Sony cybershot cameras . The lenses are unusually excellent for he price of the camera, and the wide angle zoom n this one is pretty cool. . I use them WITH my slr cameras, because sometimes, you have to be able to take a picture WITHOUT changing the lenses.

I love this camera...

I have always liked Sony cameras and have purchased five through the years at Walmart. I've never had a "bad" one, but they just keep getting better. The lens is fantastic and 63x zoom is beyond great.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H400 review

Not a million miles away from the chunky look and feel of one of the best bridge cameras in recent memory, namely Sony's RX10 , the H400 could be viewed as the budget version at a very affordable £249.

Pinch yourself; a 63x optical zoom for under £250! Solid and weighty build; standard manual features alongside fully automatic operation

Bulky; video resolution limited to a maximum 1280x720 pixels; no hotshoe for accessory attachment; small and pokey electronic viewfinder; non-rotating LCD screen; soft images shooting handheld

VERY POOR

I purchased this for the zoom factor and price as it was cheaper than the Canon sx50. HOwever after using it for a couple of days I returned it and changed to the canon. The picture quality was awful, murky and grey and full zoom was blurred.
