PCMag did not test the Sony Bravia KDL-40EX720. We did, however, test and review the Sony Bravia KDL-46EX720 from the same series. A notch larger than the 32-inch KDL-32EX720 , the Sony Bravia KDL-40EX720 ($1,079 direct) is a 40-inch edge-lit LED HDTV with 1080p video in both 2D and 3D.

Sony Bravia KDL-46EX720
An HDTV capable of rendering movies in 3D is a very sought after item. Especially since a lot of movies are starting to become available in 3D these days. But usually, these products have a price that not many consumers can afford to pay.

Horribly slow. Reboots by itself. Internet capabilities are terrible. Constant disconnects from wired network. A decision I regret!!

3D on this TV is absolutely horrendous and not usable.
The 3D on this TV is terrible and not worth a dollar.

- 2D is fine

- 3D is absolutely unwatchable
