Excellent Product--Fast Shipping
Just bought and hooked up my Sony BDP-S590 to my new Sony STRDH830 AV receiver. Nothing much to say except it was, as my kids say, easy-peasy lemon squeezy to set up, connect to the internet and watch a movie Batman--The Beginning.

One of the best $100 I've ever spent!
This blueray player is awesome! So lightweight and thin. Breeze set up, especially if you have an HDMI cable. Netflix streaming is great, no interruptions. Wireless connects itself to the network with no wires. Can play regular DVDs or blueray.

Outstanding , works good
OUTSTANDING AUDIO INCLUDING SACD, VIDEO QUALITY HAS IMPROVED A LOT, VERY EASY TO HOOK UP TO YOUR ROUTER AND USE NETFLIX AND LOTS OF MANY PROGRAMS OFFERED BY SONY. BUT WITH THE GARBAGE CINAVIA TECHNOLOGY INSTALLED YOUR LIMITED, TO MOSTLY ORIGINAL PURCHASED MEDIA, SO I RETURNED IT AND BOUGHT A 2011...
Pros:
- Great audio/ Video/wireless
Cons:
- Limitations Has Cinavia Technology Installed From Factory

Followup review - please read this
It took me a few days of research to figure out the above, so hopefully this will save some time for somebody.
Pros:
- For anyone who expects to bitstream the blu-ray disc audio from this player, PLEASE READ THIS
- This player has an audio setting labeled "BD audio mix setting" that is set "on" from the factory
- If this is set to on, the player will send PCM to your A/V receiver.
Cons:
- none

good deal for the money
easy to set up and an easy to use interface. I only gave a 4 for performance because I think it is a little slow on start up, but I'm not in a hurry anyway.

Sony BDP-S590
With the ability to use the rear USB socket for the storage requirements of the BD-Live functions, the front one becomes a lot more useful, since you can plug memory sticks into it ad hoc.
Pros:
- Very good DVD/Blu-ray picture performance
- Good range of smart functions
- Excellent value for money
- Wi-Fi for convenient connectivity
Cons:
- Ideally should have force film mode for video processing

Plus 7 ain't Plus 7
Lovely to operate. Also I was easily able to turn ipad and phone into remotes. I had one major disappointment since I mainly bought it for wifi and catchup TV aps, especially iView and Plus 7 (after teenage son permanently removed PS3 to his bedroom. Sigh...

Good but noisy
Putting in a disc starts a multitude of fairly loud clunks, and then the clunks continue until the movie starts. I have had other brands of Blu-ray players and this is the first one to make so much noise. The nice features include many Apps, and You Tube is done very well.
Pros:
- Nice features
Cons:
- Noisy
