Sony NEX-7 review
The lower-end NEX cameras are excellent, but they're designed for a user wanting something between the simple point-and-shoot and the enormous and complex DSLR. The NEX-7 isn't such a compromise: it's not quite in DSLR territory without more manual control, but it's probably close enough for most...
Pros:
- Excellent pictures and video
- Fast performance
- Very easy to use
Cons:
- Still doesn't have DSLR-level manual control
- OLED viewfinder is mediocre
- Lens ecosystem isn't as good as Nikon or Canon

The Sony NEX-7 is the flagship model in Sony's NEX compact system camera (CSC) range that also includes the NEX-5N, NEX-C3, along with the original NEX-5 and NEX-3. More than any Sony CSC to date though, the NEX-7 is aimed squarely at serious photography enthusiasts.

- 10fps burst mode
- 1080p60/50 movie mode
- PASM modes for movie shooting
- Continuous AF in movie mode
Cons:

- Poor menu layout and organisation
- Movie button easy to accidentally press
- AF struggles in poor light
- Limited selection of native E-mount lenses

Sony NEX-7 Review
The NEX-7 definitely shook up the market when it was first released, thanks to its rich feature set, small form factor, unique design / ergonomics and a very high resolution 24 MP sensor that had no competitor in the mirrorless market.

Sony NEX-7 Review
There's long been talk of a high-end Compact System Camera (CSC) to attract a more demanding user base to the ‘miniaturised' market sector. Following the release of the flagship Alpha SLT-A77 translucent mirror model earlier this year (which, by the way, we thought was a roaring success) Sony's...

Sony NEX-7 review
When Sony bought Konica Minolta's camera division in 2006, there was much speculation about the impact the acquisition would have on the DSLR market. On one hand, Sony is a large technology company and a leader in many fields, including broadcast video, and therefore had the investing power and...

Sony Alpha Nex-7 Single lens kit
Very sharp images either JPEG or RAW. Noise reduction is superior in low setting. DRO is very useful and even HDR is wonderful tool to use. This camera body has a metal feel to it and I love it. The handling is so good and rather comfortable with.
Pros:
- Very sharp images either JPEG or RAW
- Noise reduction is superior in low setting
- DRO is very useful and even HDR is wonderful tool to use
- This camera body has a metal feel to it and I love it
- The handling is so good and rather comfortable with.
Cons:
- Circle dial with button in middle probably bit too easy to turn like I turn too much by accident
- AF Illuminator too close to my hand which I hold the grip perhaps? But I remind myself to pull my 2nd index finger further away to allow AF Illuminator to shine at in the dark.
