This is my first camera that I've ever owned. I have always taken pictures from my cell phone, but wanted a good camera to take pictures of my new child. This camera has completely surpassed my expectations. I am still trying to figure out how to consistently defocus pictures and use some features.

Nex 5R
I initially bought a Canon T3i on sale but returned it after reading a review of the Sony Nex 5R on The Verge website. I can confirm what the review claimed. The picture quality of the Sony Nex 5R with the kit lens easily surpasses that of the Canon T3i with the kit lens.

Great for a first DSLR camera
My first product review on any item. My wife bought this camera as a Christmas gift to a up grade from a compact Nikon camera. I picked the camera out after talking to one of the best buy reps.

Perfect for beginners
I know very little about cameras but I was fed up of trying to take photos of my children and getting blurred images. I've also been put off by DSLR camera's as they are heavy and cumbersome. When you are out with your children in tow, the last thing you need is the responsibility of a huge camera.

All I hoped it would be!!!
I bought this to replace a Nikon P510 because of the low light performance. Have used it a few times in what would have been sketchy lighting and the photos look fantastic!!
Pros:

- Fast Shutter Speed
- Great in Low Light

Best camera
This camera has it all! You can shoot fully auto or go manual! Great for a beginner who wants to learn about cameras and you will not have to invest in a higher model because this Sony nex 5r will do it all!

Bought this camera for taking on holidays in place of my DSLR.
Very happy with this camera. It takes excellent photos & Videos. Because of its size it is small enough to fit in a jacket pocket or in my case the wife's handbag so much easier to carry about than a bulky DSLR which I usually took on holiday with me.

WELL BUILT CAMERA WITH HIGH IQ
Evaluated Olympus EPL5 & Sony NEX5R. Chose the NEX in a close call & do not regret the choice. Reasons: - More detail definition in RAW especially at higher ISO - JPEG very close at low ISO, with NEX noticably better at higher ISO.

- - No External charger - a great way to piss off customers for little saving
- - New lens is 16-50 power zoom lens is very light but can be a little soft at edges, 55-200 lens is better & very solid.
