Sonos Sub Review

For all of the quality, flexibility and whole-home hotness that goes into Sonos' wireless speakers , there was always something missing: bass. Not in absolute terms, mind you, since Sonos' speakers have always had relatively good bass performance, especially for their compact sizes.

Powerful; potent bass for such a small sub; Excellent extension and impact; Force cancelling design eliminates unwanted vibrations; Solid; inert design; Easy to set up and use

Bass a little too thumpy at times; No standard line inputs; i.e.

Sonos Sub review

It's a lot to pay for a subwoofer that can't be used with non-Sonos hardware. If you can swing the cost, though, you'll get a tremendous boost to sound quality that integrates smoothly with a full Sonos network.

Deep; tight bass; Easy setup; Unique design

Very expensive; Can't be used with non-Sonos gear; Dust magnet

Really adds to your Sonos setup

I bought the sub to accompany the sonos playbar I ordered. The sub arrived before the playbar so I paired it with two play 5's I have in the kitchen until the playbar arrived. Once the playbar arrived I set it up in the bedroom with two play 3's and the playbar.

Yes

Over performance is very good but for the price might be better. Would still recommend for upgrading a Sonos system. As my luck would have it a week after purchase ABT offered 20% off a Sonos purchase. Bought the playbase through ABT and the sub does enhance its performance.

Sonos have expanded their wireless audio range to include the striking new SUB subwoofer. It looks and sounds the business, but is the sonic boost worth the high asking price? Read on to find out.

Awesome!!

I bought this at the same time as I bought the Playbar and two Play:3s, before the Play:1s came out, but have since read that this is the best set-up anyway. My main reason for the purchase was because I wanted a decent sound from the TV, for movies, but which could also handle the rather bassy...

Sonos SUB review

If there's one thing you could be sure of/ in AV, it's that subwoofers are big, ugly and difficult to position correctly. We say 'could' because Sonos has just changed that with its SUB, the first subwoofer that we'd actually be proud of displaying.

Review: Sonos Sub

is still the leader when it comes to wireless, multi-room audio systems. With a dead-easy setup routine, well-designed controller apps, and the ability to play music from both your local stash of MP3s and

Sound is excellent, on par with the rest of Sonos' speakers; Well-designed dual-driver subwoofer with dual class-D amps offer efficient and distortion-free boom; Sleek looks make the 16-inch-tall box disappear into your ultra-modern decor.

That's a lot of Simoleons; The tall, square-shaped doughnut design can be too bulky for some rooms, even laid flat

My TV was connected to SONOS BEAM and Play 1. Then I added this SUB. IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE, and once you have it, you can nver live without it. The only cons is: the price is a bit too high, even when it is on promotion. My advice is, if you have the money to spare, go for it.

When it comes to multiroom music streaming, few systems are as elegant or as easy to use as Sonos. Now, the company has added a dedicated subwoofer to its range, designed to complement its Play:3 and Play:5 powered speakers, or partner with its digital amplifier, the Connect:AMP.
