Sub is great.
We bought the final piece of our Sonos system to add the extra kick, having already purchased the Beam some months before and being given an One; it was super simply to add to the group and adds some omph in action movies and bass in late night beats
Sonos Sub is a must to new Beam, making a huge difference to both music and movies. Had a Play5 earlier and now the sound is significantly wider and heavier. Would recommend Sub to anyone who does not live in a small apartment.
Sonos's SUB provides a very welcome low-frequency kick for the already-impressive Play:5 wireless speakers, and the effect would be more pronounced with the smaller Play:3. Seamless integration with an existing Sonos system makes it a very easy upgrade, although it makes an already-pricy audio setup...
The Sonos Sub, an expensive wireless subwoofer that's easy to adjust via app, isn't how you start a Sonos system, but it's a terrific addition to complete one.
Powerful, thunderous bass at highest levels; Subtle low-frequency anchoring at more modest volumes; User-controllable bass levels; Attractive design; Can sit vertically or be laid flat; Easy integration into existing Sonos systems.
Expensive; Large; Only works with Sonos speakers, cannot be physically connected to a subwoofer output.
The Sonos Sub provides an instant upgrade to your Sonos Play speaker system, but it's quite pricey.
The Sonos Sub has a unique, eye-catching design and its wireless function works from anywhere in a room (though it does have to be plugged in); It really augments the sound of your Play speakers and the setup is a breeze.
Its finish doesn't match any other Sonos components and the Sub doesn't work as well with the Connect: Amp; It's expensive and won't work outside of a Sonos system.
When I say the word subwoofer, what comes to mind? Is it a giant box in the corner of the room that rumbles when the dinosaur pads along the ground onscreen? Or the thing that shakes the door panels of cars at traffic lights? Arguably, neither of those have very much to do with "music."

Sonos has slowly built an empire of loyal users who not only value the quality of the company's wireless speaker lineup, but the ease of use of the system as a whole. For many of these people, the Sonos Sub represents the last piece of the puzzle—you don't start with this speaker, obviously, but it's the component that might just take your enjoyment of the entire system to the next level. At $699, the Sub isn't even remotely cheap. But there's no denying it adds an excellent low-frequency depth, ranging from subtle bass anchoring to serious deep bass thunder, and the Sonos app lets you easily adjust bass levels without leaving your seat. So while the price is high, the results are undeniably excellent. Design Available in glossy black or white models, the 15.3-by-15.8-by-6.2-inch Sub has an interesting shape with a little window (the "acoustic slot") through the middle of its body. It almost resembles a blocky, display font version of the letter O. The size is similar to plenty of...
