Sonos playbase is a wonderful addition to your entertainment center. Sound is great! When you have the playbase it's like you are at a theatre. Add additional speakers to improve the surround sound of the system.

As with most everything Sonos does, the Playbase is both excellent and expensive. But the combination of top-notch sound quality, versatility and simple setup makes it an extremely compelling speaker for the living room.

Expensive; particularly if you're building a 5.1 setup; The lovely white finish scratches and scuffs easily; Stereo separation isn't as good as you'll get with a true multi-speaker setup

Love it

Sonos gets 5 stars all over the place but it is a joke when it comes to 5.1. Neither the Base nor the Bar can handle DTS so if you want to watch a blu-ray you have purchased recently or even a few years ago, you get stereo only from most sources e.g.

Good looks, solid build; Seamless app integration; Sonos app is still be best remote app ever; Responsive touch keys; Can be expanded with extra speakers;

No HDMI; Expensive if you want to build a system;

If you know sound, this sounds good.. great.. the simplicity and quality of the sound justifies this product.. buying seperate speakers/amp (for 5% more sound) requires much more space and this negates the point for most people.. I use this to watch movies and listen to music in the living room..

I was on the fence about buying this for a while, but I am so glad I decided to get it eventually. The sound produced from this little beauty is absolutely astounding, considering its size. Yes it is quite pricey, but I do believe in this instance, you really do get what you pay for.

There is not a better system anywhere!!
