Sonos Arc review: Dolby Atmos soundbar delivers big sound

Sonos has not only followed up its previous full-fledged soundbar offering, it has improved it in every way possible. The Arc is a superb Dolby Atmos soundbar – right up there with the best – and has all the bells and whistles of Sonos' multi-room system and more. You just need to match it with a Dolby Atmos supporting TV to get the best performance.

Great Dolby Atmos performance; Excellent sound even without extra height channels; Alexa and Google Assistant on board; Easy to setup and integrate with Sonos multiroom solution;

Requires compatible TV for Dolby Atmos support; No source input; Only single-band (2.4GHz) Wi-Fi;

Sonos Arc Review

Sonos continues to expand its home theater speaker selection with the Arc soundbar. The Arc combines the voice assistant support of the $399 Sonos Beam with the power of the $599 Sonos Playbar in a single $799 package, adding Dolby Atmos compatibility with directional tweeters in the process. It’s an impressive soundbar on its own, and you can easily integrate it in an existing Sonos multi-room system or pair it with other other Sonos speakers for a truly impressive surround sound setup. Its terrific audio performance and flexibility earn it our Editors' Choice for high-end soundbars.Design and Features The Arc features sleek curves for a more modern look than the angular Playbar. Available in black or white, it’s a 45-inch-long oval cylinder measuring 4.3 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall, with a rounded metal grille that runs around the entire front and top. The only flat surfaces are the back panel, so the soundbar can be mounted on a wall, and the bottom, which holds a wide rubb...

The impressive Sonos Arc takes the best parts of the company's other soundbars and combines them into one Dolby Atmos-compatible package.

Large sound field with powerful bass, even without a subwoofer; Supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant; Can easily be expanded with satellites and a subwoofer; Dolby Atmos compatibility with angled tweeters

Expensive; Only works with pricey Sonos subwoofer

Nice soundbar albeit expensive

This product is easy to setup and easy to configure via the Sonos app. Looks great also. Used it to replace an old Magnat Sound bar/sub combo but not noticing the lack of sub currently as the sound bar has quite a bit of bass (after changing through the app).

Fantastic

It was very easy to install and has a great step by step app to help. It omits great sound and continuously reads the room for optimal sound. The app also helps you control sound like for night time quiet or voice enhancement. Its great for movie sound too.

The product itself is really good. Me and my wife were torn between this and the bose 700 as there was a $300 price difference. After listening to both, we decided on the sonos arc despite it being more expensive as the sonos produced slightly better sound clarity.

Sonos Arc review: A solid soundbar for the Dolby Atmos era

When Sonos debuted its first soundbar, the $699 Playbar in 2013, it received well-deserved praise. As a dead-simple, but somewhat pricey way to give your TV a massive audio upgrade, it succeeded on just about all but one front: The decision on Sonos’ part to equip the Playbar with a single optical input meant the Playbar would forever be locked out of the expanding world of surround formats like Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and Dolby Atmos — something reviewers noted at the time as a drawback to an otherwise superb product. Seven years later, Sonos has returned to the full-size home theater soundbar arena with the $799 Arc, a Dolby Atmos-capable speaker that shows off everything the company has learned since the Playbar’s debut. Did Sonos push the envelope far enough this time, or has it simply played catchup? Let’s take a look. I’ve said before that when it comes to soundbars, the best designs draw no attention to themselves at all. After all, your visual focus should be on your ...

Excellent surround sound; Easy and simple setup; Decent Dolby Atmos from a single speaker; Choice of Alexa or Google Assistant;

No HDMI inputs; Not ideal for all music genres;
