Sonic Unleashed Review Script Version Tested: Wii Sonic has fallen on hard times. There have been some dutiful 2D ventures on the handhelds, but the 3D forays have gotten away from what makes Sonic so great.

Ignore his Werehog alter-ego and you'll pleasantly discover that Sonic The Hedgehog is almost back on top form.

I bought this thinking it would be just like the classic sonic games. Like run around gather rings and jump on bad guys and thats about it. well its a mixture of that classic stuff with a lot of fighting scenes where you have to use multiple bottons to attack the bad guys.

Spare a thought for poor old Sonic. While Mario's been going from strength to strength in mind-blowing adventure games like Mario 64 and Mario Galaxy, the blue spiky one has been stuck in an inescapable rut since making the switch to three dimensions back in the bygone Dreamcast days.

You know, I'm going to start this review off a bit unconventionally. Last night, on the 19th, I was sitting and playing Sonic Unleashed and taking notes every so often. Some of these notes are critiques related to the game, others were just random thoughts about Sonic and Sega, in general.

I have one question to ask Sonic Team. Is it that hard to make a good Sonic game anymore? I just don't get it. Sonic was amazing when on the Genesis (with the obvious exception of 3D Blast and to a lesser extent Sonic Spinball,) and the CD version (with either the Japanese or American soundtracks)...
