This tripod holds a Nikon D5300 with a 70-300 full-frame lense with no problem at all. It is very sturdy and has many metal parts. You can make the legs so that they go almost straight out, which can be handy. Also the 3-way head works very well.

It can't compare with carbon fibre in terms of weight but the advantage it has is that if you knock a glancing blow on it, it's less likely to move because of it's increased weight.
