Great game but didn't like the achievements :)

Parents need to know that while Skate 3 is rated "Teen" it's a lot tamer than many other similarly rated games, such as those that focus heavily on shooting people. This is a skateboarding sim with an arcade twist that folds in community features and cooperation.

In Skate 3, as the old T-shirt slogan goes, "skateboarding is not a crime" - and even if it were, it would be a white-collar crime. Departing from the anti-establishment trappings of Skate 2, the latest game in EA's kiss-our-butt-Tony-Hawk series is a tale of skateboarder as capitalist.

My only other gripe about it is that the city could've been even more connected, and not split into different areas, but it doesn't do anything to subtract from the game.

Probably the best skateboarding game I've ever played, and one of the most detailed. It hits almost everything that you could possibly do in real life. The customization is probably one of the best features of the game; and the skate.school tutorials really helped me out in the beginning.

The challenges are pretty repetitive; but there's enough variety so that it doesn't get redundant

When EA Black Box released Skate for the Xbox 360 and PS3 back in 2007 it was a both a surprise and a reset for what a skateboarding game could be. If you've played the other Skate games, this one is pretty similar. Few upgrades, different map, etc. Online play might be better, but offline it's pretty much the same.

The Skate franchise is now in a league of its own.  The original Skate title burst onto the scene and brought a freshness to proceedings which eventually toppled the tired Tony Hawk franchise.
