Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM: Decent Lens Though Not With On Camera Flash!
A good lens for a great price albeit not really a pro lens- Cheap
- quite good optically
- Zoom and focus rings have no feel to them
- plasticy build
Great little lens for the price.
I purchased this product as an entry level into a wide angle lens for an APS-C sensor. I have been nothing but satisfied with this lens so far for the price point. The photos are tac sharp, with only a little bit of softening around the edges.
Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM
After seeing numerous photographs taken at wide angle for years, I've wanted an ultra wide angle lens. I had no idea for what I was in until I actually obtained one! First off, I love taking photos of sunsets and clouds.. big sky photos and displaying object scale.- Build
- optics
- internal focus
- Requires a whopping 77mm filter
- aberrations at 10mm
Sigma AF 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC (Pentax K) - Review / Test Report
The Sigma AF 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC showed an pretty impressive performance with a few bugs. The resolution characteristic is generally very good to excellent except in the extreme corners at 10mm which are a bit soft at large aperture settings.
For a while, I had really been wanting to get an UWA for my 40D and decided to try the Sigma out. I have to say my copy has been excellent. Focus is quick, though i've mostly used this lens with landscapes so speed was never an issue.
- wide angle for crop
- my copy is darn sharp
- solid build
- relatively cheap
- not constant aperture
Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM review
At the budget end of the market, Sigma and Tamron are the major scrappers and Sigma's 10-20mm lens is the cheaper of the two. Despite its low cost compared with lenses from Nikon and Canon, the Sigma feels robust and has silent HSM autofocus.
Good if you need, but not a starter lens
I wanted a wide angle lens to round out my lens collection. I read some review on Amazon and it seemed like this was a good lens to start with. It is a bit pricey for someone who does not need a wide angle lens, but I wanted it for landscapes and shooting home interiors.- landscapes
