Pics for fun.
Great lense with great warranty. Is about half the price of going with the canon lense and has just as good of a picture.

I purcahsed this lens for commercial property photography and I chose Sigma because I have other sigma lens's that have always performed well. This is one of the best, its compact, solid, and provides sharp crisp images.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Durable
- Rugged
- Sharp Focus
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- Fiddly Lens Cap

10mm Magic!!
This is my first wide angle so I couldn't make any comparison or too much opinion on it. But i hope my first impression towards this lens might help you anyway. The weight is quite heavy for the first thing i noticed, and of course the build is quite sturdy.

With a glance across the spec sheet, the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 could almost be mistaken for the f/3.5 version. It has the same focal range and features Sigma's Hyper Sonic Motor providing fast and reasonably quiet autofocus as well as functionality on Nikon bodies lacking their own AF motor.

At the budget end of the market, Sigma and Tamron are the major scrappers and Sigma's 10-20mm lens is the cheaper of the two.

Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM review by makcv113
I had this lens on a few Nikon bodies that I owned, a D3100, D5000, and D90. The lens will AF and MF fine on both AF/non AF motor bodies, at least for the bodies that I had. What I love about this lens other than the fact that it's super wide, is the very useful zoom range.
Pros:
- Very useful zoom range
- UWA
- autofocus with any body (Nikon
Cons:
- non constant aperture
- slow
- barrel extends a little when zooming in
- no OS

I've used it on several trips already (Cuyahoga Valley, Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, etc) and I am very happy with the lens. Durable and quiet. Satisfied with the picture quality and the price.

For a while, I had really been wanting to get an UWA for my 40D and decided to try the Sigma out. I have to say my copy has been excellent. Focus is quick, though i've mostly used this lens with landscapes so speed was never an issue.
Pros:
- wide angle for crop
- my copy is darn sharp
- solid build
- relatively cheap
Cons:
- not constant aperture
