Great piece of kit for those on a budge
not top end quality, but will give you good results all round

"zoom lens at cheap and cheerful level"
Zoom lenses are of upmost use in photography today. Whether trying to get that building in the distance or attempting wildlife shots, they are a must for any budding photographer. The sigma 70-300 zoom lens is perfect for the beginner trying to get into such photography.

Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 DL-M Motorized DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens with Built-in Motor Drive for Nikon SLR Cameras Including D40, D40X, D60
I shoot with a Nikon and this was the first lens I bought(Aside from the default lens, obviously). This lens has fantastic zooming and Macro settings. I can easily switch from Auto to Manual and yes, okay, it makes noise when it focuses.

Good value for someone getting into DSLR
The Sigma offered the best value in magazine reviews (even lower costs at Warehouse Express) and offers good basic facilities for the amateur/newcomer who wants to expand their experience.

Best bang for the buck!
I just received it and I can't wait to use it at the Kids games this weekend. I have owned Sigma lens in the last and loved them. The test shots with my Nikon 3000 I have taken around the house and out doors are great.

It Has A Great Zoom And At This Price
A wonderful lens for the Canon Digital SLR, this features the much appreciated macro function. Picture quality is top class and it enables great candid portraits. It also has a great zoom and at this price, is a total class product.
