Great piece of kit for those on a budge
not top end quality, but will give you good results all round- great for wildlife
- a little slow to focus
Sigma 70-300mm DG Macro
Sigma's 70-300mm has an impressive list of features but it also calls forth the warning that if something sounds too good to be true, then maybe that's exactly what it is. Its 70-300mm focal-length range may be more than many users will really need in an everyday tele-zoom but there is nothing wrong...- Multi-format image coverage
- Very poor image quality at 300mm
"zoom lens at cheap and cheerful level"

- not suitable for the professional photographer

The lens is an excellant choice for any photographer who wishes to capture nature or scenes from a distance while not disturbing the subject. The results have been excellant.

Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 DL-M Motorized DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens with Built-in Motor Drive for Nikon SLR Cameras Including D40, D40X, D60
I shoot with a Nikon and this was the first lens I bought(Aside from the default lens, obviously). This lens has fantastic zooming and Macro settings. I can easily switch from Auto to Manual and yes, okay, it makes noise when it focuses.
Good value for someone getting into DSLR
The Sigma offered the best value in magazine reviews (even lower costs at Warehouse Express) and offers good basic facilities for the amateur/newcomer who wants to expand their experience.- Easily Interchangeable
- Strong Construction
- Heavy
